32. We can't be Like This

I walked down the stairs after I got ready for the party tonight. I looked around the hall, looking for Manik but there was no glimpse of him. I wondered how he was not here yet. After all, he has always been the one who gets ready first and waits for me. Every time I needed to be embarrassed for making my boss wait for me. I have seen him being late for anything. I don’t know how he manages to do every single thing on time.

I glanced at the wristwatch in my hand only to realise that it’s only 6 in the evening. The party wouldn’t start until 8. I thought as it was rare when a party started at the time it was supposed to, that’s what I learnt till now. Having nothing else to do, I walked over to the living room and turned on the television to watch something that would kill the time till Manik arrived.
