Moon’s POV

“Please Moon, say yes now. I promise you won't do it again ever! So please help me, please?” My best friend, Prestine pleaded while holding my hands. We were having some coffee inside a coffee shop because she called me a while ago and asked me to go here because based on her, she has something important to tell me.

I glared at her. “What are you saying there? I was always the one who attends those stupid blind dates for you! I am so sick of it! Why don't you just go there by yourself, huh?”

“Ah, I just don't want to go there. I don't even know why my parents already want me to get married when I'm not that old yet,” she complained like a kid.

Prestine is actually the only child of her parents. Her father is the CEO of one of the most successful companies here in the country. And since they are so rich, her parents also want her to marry a rich man, that's why they always arrange blind dates for Prestine even though she's not interested in those because she already has a boyfriend. And her boyfriend is actually one of her bodyguards.

“Why don't you just tell them the truth? Tell them that you already have a boyfriend so you wouldn't have to always ask me to be your proxy during your blind dates.”

“Moon, do you really want me to be killed? If ever dad finds out about my relationship with Adam, he'll surely do anything for us to be separated from one another. You know how much my parents want me to marry a rich man.”

I just heaved a sigh. After all, I know how much she loves her boyfriend Adam. “This would be the last time, okay? I will no longer go to those stupid blind dates after this. And you know I will finally start my job next week, right?”

“I promise! This would be the last time! You really are my best friend! Thank you so much, Moon!” she cooed then hugged me tightly.

After our conversation, we finally decided to part ways since the blind date would be later in the evening.

I was always the one who attends those blind dates for Prestine. I will be meeting with different men who would only say how ugly I am while Prestine is having a date with her boyfriend Adam. The reason why I can stand it? Because she actually pays me. Of course, not because she's my best friend I'll already do it for free.

“MoonLeigh! MoonLeigh!”

I almost jumped where I was standing when my younger sister, Star came running towards with me with a worried look on her face.

I looked at her with confusion. “What happened? Why do you look like you've been chased by a ghost?”

“Moon! Mom and Patricia are fighting again!" she said.

“What?!”

I immediately ran towards our house upon hearing that from her. Patricia is an old woman who owns the apartment where we live in. She always fights with my mother because we don't always pay on time. Aside from that, the salary that I get from working as an office clerk is not enough for us to be able to pay for all of that. Good thing I was offered a job to be a secretary of a CEO and I would finally start next week. In that way, I would be able to somehow pay our debts.

“I already told you that we'll pay you once we get money! Why are you still here?!” I could already hear my mother shouting while I was running towards our house.

When I finally got there, I immediately saw my mom and Patricia holding brooms in their hands while glaring at each other. They looked like witches trying to fight with one another.

“Mom! Patricia? What's happening here?!” I asked as I stood in the middle of them.

“You're finally here! Do you know how much you owe me now? You're not paying your rent for three consecutive months now! When are you planning to pay me, huh?!” Patricia yelled on my face.

I immediately reached for my wallet inside my bag and took out some money and handed it to Patricia. "That's all that I can give you for now. But don't worry, I finally found a new job so I think I would be able to pay you once I get my salary there."

“Of course, you should pay me! You haven't paid me for so many months now! If you don't pay me, then I'll have no choice but to ask you to leave!”

"I understand, please, you may go now."

She even rolled her eyes at me before finally walking away.

"Pig!" mom even yelled at her.

"Mom!" I stopped her.

When we finally noticed that there were so many people that are looking at us, we decided to just go inside our house.

“Moon Leigh, is what you said a while ago, true?”

“Huh? What is it?" I asked her as I sat down on the couch.

Mom sat next to me, Star followed her. “When you said that you finally found a new job, is that true? What kind of job is that?"

"I got hired from the company I applied last week. I would be the secretary of a CEO."

“AAAAHH!” mom and Star even yelled at the same time while jumping like kids.

“What is the name of that company?! Who's your boss?! Is he handsome?!” Star asked me.

I looked at her with furrowed brows." What?"

“That's what usually happens in dramas, right? Like the boss will fall in love with her secretary. Oh well, the secretary in those dramas are all pretty...” she mumbled the last line teasingly.

I was about to smack her but then she was able to move away from me. That younger sister of mine was really a pain in the ass sometimes.
