Michael, Oliver's lawyer and I stopped outside my parent's mansion. I couldn't believe I showed up in New York, a place I promised myself to never step foot. Standing outside the gate, old memories sabotaged me. The rainy day when they kicked me out like I was a nobody. Everything that happened to me while I was in the house years back still rang in me.

I unbuckled, “I will call you if I need you.”

“I don't think that's what Mister Castillo instructed.”

A sigh left me, followed by a sudden tense that ran all over my body. I had no idea what awaited me inside. There were cameras at the gate and I was sure if Mum and Kira were inside, they knew I was there.

“Okay, let's go then.” I gave in. After all, it was for my safety.

I went to the bell and rang it without hesitation. The fact that I knew the truth gave me the courage to approach them. I rang the bell again, already impatient knowing we had a gate man who attended to the gate. Maybe he was cleaning the compound.
