A week later,

Looking at herself in the mirror, Cara combed her hair with slow, deliberate strokes. The bandage was taken off, and she appeared to be in much better condition.

“I’m running late, babe! See you in the evening.” Keith gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and left in a rush.
