Louisa:

I could never believe, even in a million years, I'll sleep with my ex husband. It sounded improbable, made me sick in the guts. But here I was, sweaty, swollen breasts and a throbbing sensation in my legs.

I sat in the darkness, my back against the cold wall as I hugged my knees to my chest. The city outside my window was alive and buzzing, but I felt numb, disconnected from the world. Alex was asleep soundly, after everything we did.

"How did I end up here?" I whispered to myself, the words barely audible over the sound of my own ragged breathing.

I thought back to the divorce, the messy and painful end to a marriage that had once been full of promise. I had sworn to myself that I would never go back to him, that I would never again subject myself to his cruelty and indifference.

And yet...here I was. I had slept with my ex-husband, had willingly gone back to him despi

Ryan:I spun around, feeling a surge of frustration. "Melisa, stop this. We're over. We've been over for a long time."But Melisa just kept pleading, her eyes wild with desperation. "Don't say that, Ryan. We can work through our problems. We'll make it work."I shook my head, relentless. "It's too late for that, Melisa. I've moved on. And even if I hadn't, I'm not sure I'd want to go back to the way things were between us.""No! Please! I love you, Ryan!"Melissa's face crumpled, and she let out a heart-wrenching sob. I felt a pang of anger and hatred. I had to be firm with her. I couldn't let Melisa's emotions dictate my decisions. There's no use talking to her about this. I'm moving on with Louisa. "Melisa, listen to me," I said, my voice firm and cold. "I mean it when I say it's over between us. And to be honest, I don't even like you anymore. You've manipulated and used me for far too long, and I'm done with it. You are so obsessed and clingy. It was hard to get rid of you even a

Ryan: "What are you doing here?" I snarled, staring at the lady that stood by the door with a solemn expression on her face. She smiled weakly which didn't last long on her face. I was irritated just by seeing her here. "Ryan–" "Leave, Melisa. I don't want to see you here. Just go." I warned, clenching my fists. She took a cautious step closer, her eyes red rimmed. Her sad expression was so obvious ."Hey, Ryan. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom," she said, her voice dripping with concern. "I just wanted to check if you're okay." "I'm fine. I don't need your concern. It's best you leave." “No!" She said obstinately."No?" I laughed in surprise. "Should I lift you up screaming and kicking?""I don't mind– as long as I'm in your arms again." She gave a sad, wistful smile.Damnit! Now I know why she's here. I wasn't in the mood to talk about our past. ."Please? Can I come in? I'll just stay for a while. Please, we need to talk." She asked innocently. Outside, it was drizzling s

Louisa:Fuck!Fuck!!Fúck!!!I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. I had no idea Rhiannon's cancer had come back. I sat back down, feeling trapped and unsure of what to do next. Oh gosh. Where is this headed to?But I'm not a fool – I know where this conversation is headed to. I'm unable to do anything about it. "My son loves you, Louisa," Rhiannon said, her voice filled with emotion. "He proposed to you, and I want to see him happy. Lou, please... don't break his heart."I felt a surge of guilt and anxiety at Rhiannon's words. I didn't want to hurt Ryan, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that marrying him would be a mistake. I don't know why..Wouldn't it be easier to move on with my one time crush? The feelings are gone but they may surface. He's a great guy and this is the best decision. To get far away from Alexander. "Rhiannon, I... I don't know what to say," I stammered, trying to find a way to let her down gently.Rhiannon's eyes filled with tears, and she reached out t

  • Billionaire's Regret: Getting My Badass Wife Back   Few Days To Live.

Louisa:I walked into the hospital room, carrying a large basket of food. I went to see Ryan's mom, the next day. The doctor said she's regained consciousness. I have no idea what she's diagnosed with. But I definitely hope to brighten up her day with my presence. After all, she was such a sweetheart when I got pregnant. She didn't leave my side, not even for a second, steeling me for motherhood. Rhiannon's eyes lit up as she saw me, and she smiled weakly. "Hey, sweetie," she said, her voice hoarse from disuse. "You didn't have to bring food.""I figured you could use a break from the hospital cuisine," I replied, setting the basket down on the bedside table. "I brought your favorite soup, and some fresh fruit."Rhiannon's eyes sparkled with gratitude. "You're an angel, Louisa," she said. "I swear, hospital food is enough to make you sick all over again. I puked twice." "Really?""I threw mine, they can't force me to eat it!" She laughed but then she was ravaged by a fit of cough. I

Louisa:James nodded and slid into the driver's seat. As we pulled away from the curb, I caught a glimpse of the reporters and paparazzi in the rearview mirror, still shouting and waving their cameras.I sighed and closed my eyes, feeling a headache coming on. This was just the beginning. Shouldn't Ryan have asked me? He's really messed things up for me. I didn't mind the proposal really, I just wished he didn't expose me. He's revealed something the world has been itching to find out. I reached home soon."Alexander?" I called immediately I got into the cold house. Everywhere was dark. It as if a soul hasn't lived here for years. Which is weird because this is my house and I live here..I called out again, my voice shaking slightly. "Alexander?"The only response was the echo of my own voice off the cold, dark walls. I fumbled for the light switch, and the sudden brightness made me squint. As my eyes adjusted, I saw that the house was in disarray. Furniture was overturned, and pap
