Chapter 50 "Hiking" (Part 1)

Jane’s POV

“This is so tiring,” I gasped, catching my breath.

Mentally, I am the oldest in the group. But physically, I am the youngest.

I looked at the two men who were hiking forward. They are walking up to the top of the mountain without a hitch.

Then, there’s me who was limping as if I was on the verge of my death.

‘I think I just saw the grim reaper passing by and waving his hand on me.’

If only I knew it would be this hard, I wouldn't have come.

‘I wanted to go home and rest!’ I silently cried without tears.

Stopping for a bit, I leaned my hands on my knees. The distance between me and the two went farther as I made a stop-by.

Lance looked back and saw me hanging my head like a thirsty horse. Then, he walked back to my side.

“Are you okay?” he asked.

I barely stood up and pressed my hands to my aching sides. Surely, my body will be in so much pain tomorrow onwards.

“A little,” I answered. “Is it okay to slow down? My legs are giving up.”
