ZARA

After an awful lot of kissing and exciting talks and laughs I finally got out of Matthew's car with his eyes still on me and that smile that makes me want to fall back into the car seat.

“You have to stop looking at me like that,” I said with the car door open.

“Why?” He leaned towards me with his lips on the side of my mouth. I took a deep breath, inhaling his scent.

“Because I need to go and prepare for work tomorrow. I need to mentally prepare for it,” I said, remembering Monica.

Tomorrow will be the first time without her in the office.

“I can help with that,” he said, trying to get me to close the door and fall back into his arms.

“No, Matthew,” I chuckled. “I have to go,” I rushed out of the car and he laughed with that smile still on his face.

“When can I see you?” He asked and I sighed.

“I don't know,” I looked down at my fingers. “Depends on how the week goes.”

“Don't do that Zara,” he growled. “I can't not go a day without touching you.”

“Oh wow. I wouldn't know about

ZARAWe got into a car waiting for us at the entrance of the building. I leaned backwards to rest on the car headrest, watching the buildings evade before my eyes as the car accelerated. My mind kept replaying everything that happened in the last hour. It's funny because when I planned to return to New York four years ago I told myself I would take over the firm without my father's shares.Without having to marry Matthew. And here I'm, the biggest shareholder. Nothing stopping from changing the firm into the beacon of hope it supposed to be. Not even Howard Dewitt or his new puppet Alberta can stop me.I leaned forward, holding the edge of the seat. “What's the ETA on the Governor's office, Bailey?” I asked my security.“About forty five minutes ma'am,” she answered and I sighed, leaning back.“We should have used a chopper,” I said, feeling car sick.“I mean your billionaire boyfriend was there. You could have just asked,” Vic said, shrugging her shoulders while Lisa chuckled.“He i

ZARA I didn't wait for the words to be sounded again. I got out of my chair and walked out of the conference room. I could hear Howard and Alberta dismay, but I couldn't care less. Why did Monica do this? Sign over her shares to me? We have never been on good terms and she died so suddenly that this has been part of her plans for a very long time. But why? Why me? Is it because of her father? Or did she finally have a change of heart after her years of torturing me. These questions ravaged my brain as I walked into my office. I slammed the files Monica's lawyer gave to me against my table. With my hands on my waist I took a deep breath. Fighting back the tears that threatened to pop out of my eyes. “Are you okay?” I heard Vic's voice behind me. I turned to see her, Lisa and Matthew. I walked over to him and threw myself over his body. “How long have you been wanting to do that?” He asked. “For a while,” I whispered, disengaging. “Is Monica for real?” I asked, leaning

ZARAThe elevator doors dinged as it opened. I walked out to see a table with a portrait of Monica's picture standing on it with a notebook underneath it.I took a deep breath as I walked towards it. My fingers trailed the notebook to see a few names signed on it and I scoffed. This can't continue to happen. Vic had placed this a week ago to honor Monica's memory and only a few people have pen down their names.I turned towards the common area where I know most of the staff will be getting their morning coffee. I know Monica wasn't a decent human being but the rest of us are and we need to show it.“Hello everyone,” I said, as I walked into the common area. “Looks like we are all here,” I said and watched each and every one of them.“I know Monica wasn't the nicest person,’’ I said to them. “But we are,” I pointed at us. “Is this about her portrait signing every morning?” One of the junior associates asked.“Yes, it is and I know how awful she was to you all, but now she's no longe

  • Billionaire's Rekindling Love   131!Stay…. just stay!

ZARAIt was pure silence as Matthew drove me back to my apartment with my security up ahead in my car.Neither of us has said anything since we had sex for the first time in seven months and even though the silence of the last few months has been deafening and without it pain and consequence. This silence is different, it's heated with a lot of emotions. But not bad emotions though, good ones and I only hope they last long.I felt Matthew's finger intertwined with mine as he pulled up in front of my driveway. He brought my hands up to his face and placed his lips on them. I felt a tingling all the way from my stomach down to my spine. And boy, did it feel good.“You don't want me to go, do you?” I asked and he sighed, still holding my hands.“We could just stay in here, no one can see us,” he said pointing at the tinted windows and glass. “Or we could go to our gateway mansion or the cabin I just got,” he added and I smiled.“As lovely as all of that sound is, I have to go in,” I sai

MATTHEWHer hands landed on my cheeks and my face turned sideways. Her eyes widened and she closed her mouth with her hands.“I'm sorry,” she whispered with her lashes blinking non stop.“Nope,” I took a step away from her. “I deserved that.” She tried to walk away but I stopped her.“What are you doing here?” She asked, sighing.“To see how you are doing,” I said and she scoffed.“You haven't seen me in seven months, Matthew. You don't get to just stroll back into my life,” she said, with an angry look on her face.“You are right about me just strolling back into your life, but you are wrong about me not seeing you for the past seven months,” she looks at me confused.“I have seen your face at least twice everyday Zara…”“My face has been in the news lately,” she cuts me off.“No,” I shook my head. “I went out of my way to see you in person.”“But you didn't actually see me,” she folded her hands around her body. “You stayed away because you were angry at me.”“Zara..”“No,” she rais
