"Are you sure you want to hear the truth?" She asked the same thing again, her sneer widening so much that it began to feel like a threat. "I'm asking you again because I can tell that you'll be so heartbroken."

"Yes, yes. Just tell me now." My fear worsened. 

She exhaled. "Well you see my sweet husband, the first thing you need to know is that this marriage of ours is only a game."

"A game? What are you saying?" I narrowed my eyes, trying to concentrate on what she was sputtering. 

Her sly smile worsened, and she moved closer to me. "Yes my dear husband." She poked my nose with her index finger. "I'm not supposed to tell you this. But thinking about it, I'm damn tired of pretending to you. I'm fucking tired."
