Chapter 10: Flashback: Bodyshot

I drink there quietly, and if Trisha's friends talk to me, I talk to them too. They are not awkward to be with because they have a strong sense of humor, and I also laugh at their jokes.

"Architect," Trisha whispered to me.

I didn't realize that she was now next to me, and she left her boyfriend, John, in the other seat.

"Why?" I asked her.

She didn't speak immediately and looked at our friends, who were laughing. I couldn't keep up because my attention was focused on Trisha when she approached me.

"I'm sorry if I took John and his friends with us on our girls night out. They came here by chance," Trisha explained to me.

I grinned and shook my head, because I had no problem with that. Also, what's the point of our girls' nights out if we can't socialize with others?

"Oh, come on, Trisha! It's fine. They're funny to be with. Don't worry about me," I said, then shrugged.

"Are you sure it's okay with you? Maybe you're not comfortable with them," she said.

I could clearly see the shame on
