19. The trend

Jack sat comfortably in the backseat of the uber as the driver drove through the streets of New York. He had arrived from Los Angeles by flight a few minutes ago and ordered an uber. He was going on a working visit to his hotel. It has been over three months since he had last visited.

The uber parked inside the hotel and he stepped out. He walked inside through the big glass door and bumped into someone.

“I'm so sorry.” He apologized but the man walked away, not sparing him a glance. He was dressed in a grey hoodie with big boots. His head was bent low as he walked out of the door.

“Strange” Jack muttered as he watched the stranger he bumped into walk out of the door. He walked to the front desk and was immediately recognized by the staff there.

“Good morning sir.” She greeted politely and he responded. She put a call through to the manager informing him about Jack's presence and a few minutes later, the manager rushed out. The manager was an advanced man. He looked to be around his fi
