"WHY are you doing that? Aren't you going to work?" Edwin asked Yazed when he saw him in Amber's room.

"Mommy's caregiver is sick, so I'm taking care of her myself." Yazed answered dismissively.

He skipped work because he was worried about Kailani. He probably overdid it last night. She had a fever when he woke up. He wanted to take care of her and his mother, so he didn't go to work. He didn't want to just entrust them to the maid.

Edwin looked at the medicine on the tray. It was still the medicine he gave to Kailani. "It seems that she has been slacking off since her service was transferred to you. Admit it to me, do you like that woman?"

Yazed saw his father doubting his feelings for Kailani. But he had to lie because he will surely make a way for her to disappear from their path if he found out about them.
