Lisa's pov

I dragged my heavy feet on the ground to the only place I found peace and comfort. My life has been filled with sadness but at least I'm not really that lonely.

“Fiona” I called out weakly, banging on her door before slumping to the floor.

I closed my eyes waiting for her to open up. The door creaked open a few seconds later and she peeped outside.

“Lisa?” She called out, opening the door fully as she bent down to my level.

“I feel empty” I muttered to her in tears, resting my head on the iron frame.

She wiped my eyes clean with her cloth, patting my head slowly. “Let's go inside” she muttered helping me up as she guided me inside.

“Did you get the whip again?” She asked slowly after helping me settle down in the chair.

“Can I get a glass of water please?” I asked slowly, shutting my eyes.

I hate to be vulnerable but I can't keep acting so strong when it hurts so much. I let down the tears flow freely from my eyes.

“Here I have it,” she muttered, handing me the glass cup of water. I gulped everything down my throat immediately then gave her a small smile.

“Thank you” I muttered to her slowly.

She nodded her head, sitting down beside me while she tapped her hand slowly on her thighs. I knew she was dying to ask so many questions.

“You don't have to make your curiosity so obvious” I muttered to her, resting my head on her shoulder.

“I'm dying over here to wish you a happy birthday and get to meet your wolf but here you are sulking like a toddler whose ice cream got stolen” she snapped back pushing my head off her shoulder.

I couldn't help but smile at her simplicity. She's also an omega like me but yet she doesn't let anything fraze her or shake her worth.

“I met my mate,” I blurted out. She squealed in joy, jumping up and down as she screamed in joy while I just shook my head.

“Its Bryan Peters” I muttered and she stood frozen, her face went pale instantly as she slowly turned to face me.

“Tell me that's a joke?” She asked, convincing herself that I'm just playing around like usual but I shook my head otherwise.

She just stood there, frozen. Her lips didn’t twitch. Her lashes didn’t even blink. Like time had stopped just to mess with her brain.

“Tell me that’s a joke?” she whispered again, staring at me like I’d just confessed to eating her last piece of roasted chicken.

I shook my head slowly.

She backed away like my presence was suddenly contagious. “Bryan Peters? As in, the Alpha’s golden egg, the bastard prince, the devil’s mini-me?”

“Unfortunately, yes.” I muttered, dumping my head in my palms.

Fiona placed her hand over her chest like she’d been shot. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”

“I wish I was but then boom just like that my wolf recognized him and said the word,” I muttered, dragging the hem of her blanket to cover my legs.

“Boom,” she repeated, blinking rapidly.

“You look like you have seen a ghost” I said rolling my eyes.

“So were you locked up and flogged because you were that spoiled brat’s mate?” She asked, pointing to my swollen hands while I shook my head.

“I stole food and kind of rebelled against the Alpha which earned me some beating but do you know what's strange?” I asked, remembering the pains I went through.

“What's that?” She asked, her curiosity piqued.

“I was in the cell when I started feeling pain. It was like my bones were on fire. My stomach twisted so hard I couldn’t even scream. I thought I was dying. Alivia went quiet. Completely. Like the connection fried her too.” I explained, trying to demonstrate and at the same time point to the place where I felt the pains.

Fiona’s eyes widened, and she slowly inched back beside me, then reached out to pet my arm like I was a stray cat that had just been kicked out of hell.

“Maybe because I just met my wolf,” I added, shrugging my shoulders.

“That wasn't from you meeting your wolf, Lisa. That was from him.” Fiona muttered, shaking her head.

I turned my head to look at her. “Him? What do you mean?” I asked curiously.

She hesitated, chewing on her lower lip like she was battling herself. Then she blurted, “He cheated.”

My heart paused. “What?”

“That pain? That gut-wrenching, body-snapping, wolf-retreating pain you felt? That’s what happens when your mate betrays the bond.” She exhaled slowly, like saying it out loud made her want to throw up.

“If a newly bonded mate sleeps with someone else after the bond’s formed, especially while you're in emotional turmoil... The rejection hits hard. It's like getting half-marked and then set on fire.” she added, rubbing my hand slowly

My mouth opened. Then closed. Then it opened again. “So while I was in that hellhole, probably passing out from starvation and pain—he was out there… screwing Potato Princess?”

Fiona blinked. “Irene?”

“Yes. The mashed up potato.”

Fiona pressed her lips together, nodding.

I gagged. “What the actual fu—”

“He did it to break the bond,” Fiona said suddenly, her voice low. “It’s a trick. Some Alphas use it to reject a mate without saying the actual rejection words. That way, they don't get the full force of backlash.”

“So… he fucked her. And I paid the price.”

Fiona nodded, her expression dark.

I was quiet for a few seconds, then turned to her slowly. “Do you think the moon goddess can un-match me?”

“I don’t know. But if you pray hard enough, she might at least give him erectile dysfunction.”

I burst out laughing. Painfully. I had to hold my ribs to keep from falling apart. “You’re a menace.”

“I will try to be more mean.” she muttered dramatically.

We sat in silence for a moment, both of us replaying the madness that just occurred.

Fiona suddenly jumped to her feet. “Get up.”

“Huh?”

She pulled me by the arm. “I said get up. Enough crying, enough sulking. That cheating trash bag doesn’t get to have your tears and your broken spirit. We’re going out.”

“Where?”

“The club. Duh.”

Yet, while the pack slept in quiet harmony, Lisa found herself restless. She sat by the open window of her chamber, the cool night air brushing against her skin, carrying with it the sweet perfume of the forest. Her children had long since fallen asleep, their small chests rising and falling steadily. The brothers too had retired, leaving her alone with the thoughts that stirred deep in her soul.Something had been weighing on her for days. A pull, an unseen force calling her beyond the realm of flesh and bone. She knew what it was, though she had not spoken it aloud. The moonlight tonight was different—heavier, brighter, almost sentient. And when her eyes met

Third person POV The coronation day had finally arrived. The sun stretched lazily across the horizon, spilling streaks of gold and crimson over the clearing that had been transformed into the heart of the celebration. A vast gathering of wolves and allies filled the sacred grounds of the pack, all eyes shimmering with anticipation, awe, and pride. Banners dyed with deep silver and midnight hues fluttered gently in the crisp breeze, bearing the crest of the pack. The air was heavy with both ceremony and the undeniable sense that history was about to be written.Lisa stood quietly behind the brothers, her heart pounding with a force that rattled her chest. It wasn’t nerves in the ordinary sense; it was something greater, heavier, the recognition that what was unfolding today would change not just her life, but the life of every wolf gathered here, and those yet to come. Her children stood beside her, their young faces glowing with excitement and curiosity, unaware o

Lisa's POVTwo weeks laterTwo weeks had passed since the day the world was pulled back from the edge of ruin, and still I could feel the remnants of Malrik’s curse lingering like shadows across my skin. Yet my body had healed, the torn muscles mended, the bones realigned, the exhaustion slowly replaced by something sturdier—resilience. My children had also recovered, their once-fading auras now glowing brighter with every sunrise. And the brothers—Enzo, Ash, Kael, and Atlas—though still carrying the scars of battle, stood taller than ever, their bond as unbreakable as iron.I sat by the window of my chamber, the curtains drawn open so the silver light of the moon could bathe me. It was the same moon that had witnessed my pain, my fall, my fight, and my survival. I breathed it in deeply, my chest rising and falling with the cool night air. The room smelled faintly of healing herbs that Calla and Mira had insisted I keep near my bed, though I no longer need

The heavy silence after his death felt almost unbearable, as though the earth itself was holding its breath. Lisa lay in Enzo’s arms, weakened but alive, her children clinging to her hands while the brothers formed a protective circle around them. The battle was over. When at last they emerged from the hideout, the light of day struck them with blinding brilliance. Outside, scores of shoulders—warriors from allied packs who had been waiting on the periphery—fell instantly to their knees. A wave of voices rose together, raw and reverent.“Hail the protectors!” one called.“Glory to the Alpha blood!” another shouted. The air vibrated with chants and bows as every warrior pressed their heads low to the ground. They hailed Lisa, the children, and the brothers—Enzo, Ash, Atlas, and Kael—as saviors who had delivered them fr

Third person POV The chamber thundered with the clash of two forces that were never meant to exist together. Shadows and storms, darkness and light, collided until the very foundations of the cavern cracked beneath the pressure.Lisa stood at the heart of it all, her body trembling yet unyielding, every inch of her glowing with the power coursing through her veins. Her children’s essence still clung to her, woven into the armor of her aura, giving her strength she did not even know she had. Her breath came in ragged gasps, but her eyes—those blazing storms—never left Malrik. The ancient wolf sneered, his skin stretched thin with the grotesque power that consumed him. His form flickered between flesh and shadow, his hands claws of condensed darkness, his teeth bared in a grin that promised carnage.“You’re a fool,” he hissed, his voice reverberating with otherworldly echoes. “Your parents begged for mercy as I took their power, and now you—child o

Third person POV The chamber stank of blood and burned magic, the air so thick with energy it trembled in every breath. Shadows slithered along the cracked walls, licking at the edges of the ritual circle where Lisa lay bound and broken. Her chest rose and fell faintly, her skin pale, every vein glowing faintly with the residue of Malrik’s corruption. But the children stood around her, small bodies trembling, eyes bright with determination far beyond their years. Elias was in front, his palms pressed to the ground as golden light bled from him, forming the first strands of the barrier. Aria lifted her arms, her lips moving in soundless whispers as the very air shifted, answering her call, weaving into the barrier as shimmering wind. Lyra’s tiny fingers danced over Lisa’s body, tracing protective symbols of power, strands of healing energy glowing like threads of silver around her mother. They were five years old, fragile in size but colossal in spirit.
