It was already morning. Mervin rested his head on the headboard of his bed. Despite the clock on the wall ticking 7 a.m., he showed no desire to get up to prepare for work.

He was lost in thought. His short conversation with his parents the previous day was still hunting him. He just could not digest what his parents were up to as his mind rewinded what happened when he reached home.

Walking into the huge Brooklyn Mansion-like palace, maids and guards kept greeting him till he reached the living.

Mr. and Mrs. Brooklyn's eyes were fixed on the TV watching an ongoing program.

"Am here"

Mervin announced. The couple shifted their gaze from the TV to Mervin who remained standing despite his eyes locating numerous empty conches.

He was not interested in the seat. Neither did he plan to spend more than ten minutes in the house.

"Where is that orphan?" Mrs. Brooklyn spat in a low voice.

Her voice was a slow poison that made Mervin's face turn black and his eyes narrow.

His hands felt as if they might strangle a human being at that very moment.

" Crystal, that's her name"

He whispered venomously. He stared at his mother dangerously and if eyes could tear a human skin, his mother would have already been dead.

Mrs. Brooklyn rolled her eyes as if they might come out of their socket.

"Whatever"

She waved her hand into the air. She picked a handful of groundnuts on the table before shoving it all into her mouth.

"Mervin, you still have the chance to make a change. Princess Moa or any other model and public figures out there, I can make them yours. Forget about that pauper "

Mr. Brooklyn chipped in. Mervin hit his forehead in disbelief at what his father just said before shifting his gaze from his mother to him.

"Dad… what should I do to make you understand that it's Crystal I need and no one else?"

He was frustrated.

Why was it hard for his parents to do it in accordance with his desire?

Mr Brooklyn spared him a glance then faced the tv.

"That was your last chance, Mervin. Anyways, in two weeks, I will summon you and that girl. As I already said…" he paused.

"Should it be found that the girl is not carrying the Brooklyn blood, you will lose your title as the 'CEO' and ' heir to LV Corporation. The choice is yours to make… son"

He sounded rather too sarcastic. But his words carried a heavy rock that almost hit Mervin to death.

"So shall it be. If you are done, excuse me"

Mervin turned his back to his parents as he made his way out of the house.

Mervin took a deep breath. He felt as if someone was inserting pins and needles in his head as it hurt like hell. Hangover was dealing with him at its best.

His stomach made a rumbling sound. Hunger joined forces with Mr. Hangover to get the best for him. Still, Mervin did not move a finger. He was unwilling to leave his room.

Just not yet.

His phone, which was beside him, made a beeping sound.

He picked the phone up. It was a message from Crystal.

"Are you okay?"

Read the message.

He was not okay. He felt suffocated. They say a male child should not be a crybaby, but his current situation was giving hints of turning him into one at any moment.

"Are you not hungry? I've prepared some hangover soup. Would you like to have some?"

Another message popped up.

He was more than hungry, he needed the hangover soup, but he was in a terrible state. He does not want Crystal to see this side of him.

He tossed the phone aside as he lowered himself into the bed. He pulled the duvet and covered his whole body.

*

Thirteen hours passed by in a snap of the finger. Crystal could not take her eyes off her phone.

It's been more than thirteen hours since she sent Mervin some messages, but he has not replied even to a single message.

She was worried.

Her sisters had already had their dinner and had retreated to their rooms. Crystal could not just get herself to her room.

Since morning, Mervin had not stepped out of his room. This was driving her nuts.

'He might be hungry

Tinny words whispered into her.

*Beep Beep*

Her phone vibrated in her hands. She sprang up as if she'd seen a snake crawling into her phone. Her fingers worked magic on the phone as she opened Mervin's chat.

'Don't worry about me. Am okay'

Crystal felt sad. His message was a clear indication that he was not fine. He needed company

How can someone who's not eaten since morning be fine?

Crystal was not someone who could be fooled by words. Dating Mervin for close to a decade, helped her know his strengths and weaknesses.

There was nothing about Mervin that she did not know.

Realizing that hunger might be throwing tantrums in his body, she walked into the kitchen.

In a few minutes, she prepared the simplest dish she could think of 'Pasta and scrambled eggs'.

She pressed the food carefully into the tray. She carried it and found her way to Mervin's room.

Standing before his huge wooden door. Crystal balanced the tray with one hand and knocked on the door.

There was no response. She turned the doorknob, and luckily the door was not locked. She pushed it open and walked into the room.

Her mouth was wide agape and her legs stopped on their track as her eyes roamed around the room. Even a bird's nest was nicer than the current situation in the room.

Papers and clothes decorated the tiled floor like a carpet. The bed itself looked like a hawk nest.  The bed covers were just thrown anyhow.

Mervin himself was out of view.

"Ooh my" mumbled Crystal.

She pressed the tray on the huge glass table which stood in the center of the room.  She bent down and started picking the papers one by one.

She was so engrossed in cleaning the room that she hardly noticed a figure standing before her.

A drop of water fell on her arm since she was wearing a short-sleeved blouse. She stopped cleaning as she raised her head to trace the source of the drop.

Slowly by slowly, legs as strong as steel comes into view, and then a stainless white bath towel follows. Her eyes almost popped out when they finally landed on a perfect six-pack ab, broad chest, and.. and… he was just a perfect description of a demigod…

"Fuck!"

She whispered as she swallowed hard. Her eyes were on his kissable pink lips.

"Is something on my face?"

Mervin's voice brought her back to reality. She lost her balance and hit her butt on the ground.

I… I brought your food" she stammered looking away from Mervin.

She stood up and pretended to be looking somewhere else in the room. She was embarrassed, her cheeks were hot.

"Thanks for the food. You can go get some sleep now", Mervin said.

He walked to his dressing table and took a bottle of midnight body lotion.

"No. I want to see you eat. I gave my all to this food. I do not want it to get wasted"

Insisted Crystal.

Mervin knew it would.be useless arguing with Crystal when food is concerned.

Even when he had fights with his parents, Crystal always advised him not to skip his meal out of spite.

To avoid fighting with her, he dropped the lotion back on the dressing table and headed towards the food tray.

He picked it up and sat down on one of the three chairs in the room.

In a few minutes, the plate was empty. Looking at Crystal who had a satisfied look on her face, he said " Happy now?"

Crystal nodded like a little toddler whose mother was offering to buy ice cream for it.

" I will take the plates downstairs"

Crystal pressed the empty plates back into the tray and carried it. She was about to take a step out of the room', A hand wrapped around her waist making her stop on her track'.

His bare chest threatened to burn her back because his skin was glued to her from behind.  A wave of mixed feelings down her body like an electric shock.

"Thank you so much Crystal" he whispered into her ear.

Crystal dropped the tray to the ground.

She slowly turned to face him, his hands went into her waist as she faced him.

Their lips were just an inch apart. Their eyes battled staring deep into each other. No words were uttered between them. Their lips yearned for each other. They could both hear their heartbeats.

Slowly by slowly, just like a magnet attracting a metal object, their lips were glued together, dancing rhythmically.

Crystal's idle hands were now roaming all over Mervin's body. Mervin's hands were never left out,  his left-hand round crystals waist, gluing her more to his skin like gum, his right hand found its way into her blouse, caressing her bare skin till he reached the fresh bo*bs on her chest.

He took one breast into his hand and fondled it.

"Oh…. Mervin"

She moaned in Mervin's mouth. She was on cloud nine. She freely allowed her body to melt in Mervin's arms like candy.

Hearing crystal moans, Mervin felt as if he got a passcode to explore her body the most.

He deepened the kiss as their tongues clicked. Their eyes were shut.

Melvin's hand left Crystal's chest as it went down her waist in search of the zip to her skirt. He opened the zip and the skirt fell.

He broke the kiss for a moment, her legs felt weak, her heartbeat as if there was no tomorrow, and her breathing pulse was that of someone who'd been running a marathon and just got a rest.

He removed the blouse from her body, exposing the fresh bo*bs  that stood pointing at him, threatening to poke his chest.

When his eyes met with crystals own, she bit her lower lip nervously. Her eyes were vulnerable.

Mervin carried crystal. She wrapped her legs around Mervin's waist. He resumed tasting the flavor of her lips. He walked toward her bed and gently pressed her on it.

They got more and more intense. Mervin's hand moved from Crystal's cheek as it roamed to her neck, then her chest, it did not take long for it to tap the belly button.

Finally, the long journey to the promised Land was about to come to an end when his hand located her delicious honey pot that was well covered with Lace underwear.

He was about to caress the top of her Jerusalem when he abruptly stopped.

He sat back straight at the edge of the bed.

"I am sorry, I do not know what is coming over me," he said.

He looked like someone who'd been caught stealing meat from the pot.

Sensing that something was off, Crystal raised and sat beside him.

"There is nothing to be sorry about, Mervin," she said.

But Mervin shook his head negatively.

He felt guilty. He had promised never to make love to her till she was ready, but he nearly got her into the web.

It was all his fault.

"No crystal.  I almost broke my promise to you."

His eyes were red as if he were about to cry.

Crystal sighed and pressed a hand on his shoulder.

"I don't mind," she whispered.

Mervin gave her a confused look.

She continued, " I don't mind if you go beyond the kiss Melvin"

Melvin stared into her innocent ocean-blue eyes before saying "Are you sure? Can we do it? Are you ready for this?"

He paused.

"You know I will stop once you ask me to, " He said.

"Don't stop, even if I ask you to stop," replied Crystal.

Hearing this from Crystal,  his feelings were awakened once more.
