Chapter 19: Ivy's strange behavior

"I'm here. I'm here." Ivan whispered as he pulled me down onto his lap.

I sobbed hard into his chest that I didn't know I was holding onto. I don't even know why just those two words from him broke me like shattered glass.

"It's okay. I got you. I won't ever let anyone get you." He whispered continuously, rubbing comforting circles in my back.

I don't know why I was sobbing but my reflection was flashing in my memory, making me shiver in fear in his arms.

I guess I knew but I wasn't ready to give in. I didn't want to disappoint Eclipse.

"What's wrong?" Ivan asked as I seemed to calm down a little but him just being with me.

"Nothing," I mumbled, gripping his shirt.

He sighed, "Don't hide. It's okay to tell me. Trust me, hmm?"
