For a second, none of us moved.

Rain continued hitting the dorm windows violently while thunder echoed across the sky outside. The terrified girl stood by the door breathing heavily like she had run all the way down the hallway.

Lisa grabbed my wrist tightly. “What do you mean something is moving around the dormitory?”

The girl swallowed nervously before looking behind her toward the hallway.

“I do not know,” she whispered shakily. “People saw it outside the first-floor windows.”

A cold feeling

  • Black Ridge Academy    The Missing Camera Footage

By lunchtime, the entire academy had become a prison disguised as a school.Students moved through the hallways quietly while security guards watched from nearly every corner. Even the teachers seemed uneasy now, their smiles forced and unnatural whenever students asked questions about yesterday's incident.I sat across from Lisa in the cafeteria, absentmindedly pushing fries around my tray while the noise of whispered conversations filled the room.“I heard the cameras stopped working right before it happened,” a boy sitting nearby whispered carefully.“That makes no sense,” his friend replied nervously. “This school has cameras everywhere.”“Exactly.”Lisa leaned slightly closer toward me the moment she overheard them.“I've been hearing the same thing all morning,” she whispered. “People are saying the classroom footage disappeared.”I frowned immediately. “Disappeared?”She nodded nervously. “One of the seniors claimed security tried reviewing it this morning, but the files were c

  • Black Ridge Academy    Locked down

I clicked the class door open as I dashed out, I couldn't see Vanessa any longer. She had run faster. I went in search of her, checking through classes, hidden places in school too. I got exhausted as my feet went numb. I sighed, went back to my class, and grabbed my bag before heading out.The atmosphere inside Blackridge Academy changed overnight. It was no longer just tense whispers in hallways or frightened glances exchanged between students during class. Fear had settled itself into the walls of the academy like something alive, something breathing quietly beneath the surface while everyone pretended not to notice it.By morning, security guards stood at nearly every corridor but there weren't the usual guards either. These ones wore dark uniforms I had never seen before, with silver badges pinned neatly against their chests. Their expressions remained cold and unreadable as students passed by, nobody spoke loudly anymore. Even the popular students who usually laughed carelessly

  • Black Ridge Academy    The curse

We somehow managed to convince ourselves that what we saw last night was over. Even though deep down, I knew neither of us truly believed that.Lisa stayed awake longer than I did, sitting quietly on her bed while hugging her knees close to her chest. Every few minutes, she glanced nervously toward the dorm window like she expected that thing to appear again.Meanwhile, I kept turning around restlessly on my bed, hoping sleep would finally come but it did not. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw those black eyes again. The image kept replaying inside my head over and over again until my chest tightened painfully. At some point during the night, exhaustion finally dragged me into sleep. The next morning, I woke up feeling completely drained. My entire body felt heavy, like I had barely rested at all. Dark clouds still covered the sky outside while soft rain continued falling against the dorm windows.I groaned quietly before pulling the blanket over my face again.“I seriously cannot su

More dorm room doors opened as students stepped out nervously to see what was happening.Lisa immediately shook her head. “We are not going out there.”“But everyone else already is,” the girl replied quickly.Almost like proving her point, another frightened scream ech

  • Black Ridge Academy    Things Hidden In The Dark

Lisa stared at me like I had just said the worst thing possible. For a few seconds, she did not even blink. The color slowly drained from her face while her fingers tightened around the blanket resting on her lap.“You saw someone that looks like Adrian in the archive room?” she asked quietly.I nodded once before sitting down on my bed. “He was searching through the incident files.”Lisa immediately stood up from the bed and began pacing around the room nervously.“No… no, this is bad.”I frowned slightly. “Why does everyone keep reacting like that whenever Adrian is involved?” Even though I wasn't sure that was him.“Because nothing good ever follows him,” she whispered.I leaned back against the wall behind my bed while exhaustion slowly settled into my body. The night already felt too heavy for my mind to process properly.“I did not fully see his face,” I admitted quietly. “But I know it was him.”Lisa stopped pacing immediately. “Did he see you?”“I do not think so.”That answer

  • Black Ridge Academy    Footsteps between the shelves

My breathing became uneven as the footsteps outside the archive room grew louder.I tightened my grip around the folded paper in my hand while standing completely still behind the dusty shelves. The old wood pressed against my back as fear slowly crept into my chest. Then the archive room door slowly opened. I held my breath immediately. A shadow entered the room quietly before the door shut again. At first, I could only hear soft footsteps moving across the floor slowly. The person was obviously tiptoeing and clearly did not want to be noticed.I peeked slightly through the small space between the shelves, trying not to make any sound. My heartbeat pounded loudly inside my ears as the figure moved deeper into the room. The lights were off, making it difficult to see clearly, but I noticed dark clothing and broad shoulders immediately. The person stopped near the cabinet containing the incident reports. My fingers tightened around the folded paper. “Please do not come this way.” I mut
