Ravi tightened his clothes as the cold air enveloped him. He glanced at Raymond, who seemed unaffected by the chilly atmosphere, smiling suspiciously as they strolled past fragrant shops.

Unable to dismiss the looming reality of their lives, even in this small town, Ravi recognized that his wallet would dwindle along with their expenses, with no income in sight. Reluctant to use his bank card, he feared Daniel discovering his presence here.

They halted by a pedestrian traffic light. Ravi felt Raymond's hand gently tug at his shirt. "What's wrong?"

"Does Ravi feel pain again in Ravi's body?"

Arching an eyebrow at the sudden question, Ravi shook his head in response. "No."
