Chapter 6: First World (III)

Imagine, from a who knows where to landing to a strange place and getting imprisoned like an animal then being transported to someone’s room. Seriously, Byul felt like he was treated like a parcel.

Not only did the soldiers dragged him like a cattle in the journey, he was also casually thrown into a room. Who else wouldn’t pity himself like this. Byul instantly want to cry.

It was really painful! Walking miles underneath the scorching sun. No water no rest! Ugh! I’m already burnt!

Byul instinctively check his body and felt relieved after seeing that he was still the same. Good, good I’m still me.

Byul tried to break free from the rope in his hand and soon give up. The rope was too tight! Not to mention he couldn’t see how he was tied up. It’s quite impossible to break free.

Byul grumbled and lift his head to survey the room. There was a table in front of him with a stack of scrolls on it. A huge window behind the desk with a red curtain slightly parted to see the outside. There’s also some sort of cabinet beside the desk and he bet those must be some kind of keepsakes.

Byul also noticed the red carpet he was currently kneeling at. It seems that it was the study room of a duke or something. After all it was too modest for a king or a prince.

There were also some few traces of visits since there was a pair of cups on top of the desk. That person on the camp and the one in this room must be close. If not why would ‘that guy’ bring him here as a gift?

Byul deduced and nodded at himself.

He slowly stood up and walked towards the desk. There must be some clues about the place he’s currently in. Its hard to proceed without familiarizing himself you see.

And as expected, he really did found some clues.

The papers had some strange writings in it however, if you look closely enough it seems to be Chinese characters.

What? I’m in ancient China? Why didn’t you send Huanyi instead!

Byul cursed on his mind.

How can he understand this? He didn’t study Chinese! If its in English it could’ve been better however it wasn’t.

Byul rummage through the scrolls as he pry open them one by one using his tied hands.

There goes the cursed characters again and he really rolled his eyes to the max that it almost rolled out of his sockets.

Byul opened another scroll and saw an inked drawing. Thank goodness! His eyes finally lit up. The drawing seems to be some sort of map. There were mountains and valleys in it and even a line looking like a river.

Byul scrutinized the scene and felt it was very familiar.

‘This is actually the scene where the Great Wall of China is built…’

However, the walls still didn’t exist in this time frame. It was still a century away. Byul paused as he thought about the issue.

“Wait. Are we supposed to build the Walls? Don’t tell me.. We’re staying in this place for a century..”

He mumbled as he felt shivers on his spine. No way! I’ll be stuck here for a hundred years?!

His thoughts suddenly crashed as he heard some noised outside and instantly rolled back the scrolls and piled them up in an incredible speed. Who knows how he managed to do it but he still did.

He then went back on the carpet and knelt as he acted to be struggling to get the rope untied.

The noise get louder and after a moment, the door was slowly opened as a certain someone entered the room.

Stanley after seeing Byul bending over his knees: “….”

The door creaked however the person didn’t walk in. What’s happening? Byul look over the door and instantly frown when he saw the person standing stiffly at the entrance. Oh my? Why is that bastard here?!

“You’re actually here?”

Stanley asked in disbelief. What a coincidence to see Byul in this room! He chuckled as he walked over to the person kneeling on the ground.

“How—?”

Byul frowned as he asked. Come on! Of all people he could meet from the ten, it’s Stanley?!

“How you asked? I actually don’t know. I just realized I’m already here.” Stanley crouched in front of him as he showed him an elegant smile.

Byul look at him and just sighed. He must’ve landed here randomly. If that’s the case then it’s believable.

“Can you untie me?” Byul asked as he motioned himself.

Even if it’s this bastard, he’s still a comrade. Byul thought. They’re on the same boat anyway. However, his expectations had been betrayed. Stanley sneered at him and asked.

“Why should I?”

“….!”

Wtf?! Of course! You could at least lend me some help! Is that so bad to ask you! Ugh! This is why I hate you so bad. You’re f***ing selfish! He cursed him lot on his mind however, Byul held back his anger and just smiled. This guy can’t be talked anyway. He’s someone who hold grudges!

“I’m just kidding, go away. You’re bothering me here.”

Stanley chuckled and circled around him. “Can you even break free by yourself.”

“Mind your own business. Shoo~” Byul insisted making Stanley frowned.

“Good luck then.” Stanley just sighed and finally head towards the door. He gave him one last glance before going out and closing the door.

“Freak.”

Byul cursed and finally started to broke free from the rope. To think he’d met that guy first instead of someone else. He really had such bad luck. The odds really hate him this much!

He moved his hands and adjusted himself to felt around the rope. After some time, he finally figured out how to break free and instantly tried.

Sweats poured down on his face and the numbness started to surface on his hands. Byul continued rubbing his hands on the rope and soon he finally freed himself.

‘Damn that took forever.’

He quietly thought as he shook his hands off. He stood up from the carpet and touch his wrist. The bruised already became purple. It was really a horrible sight. He sighed and finally walked towards the door.

If Stanley could walk around freely that means there’s no one around but that guy can’t be trusted. He cautiously opened the door and peek at the hallway.

Byul silently made his way out as he shut the door. The hallway was lit and just like the room. It was smeared with a red carpet on the floor. How come there’s no one around here?

Byul wrinkled his brow and finally walked into the exit.

He managed to get on the end of the hallway successfully however, he suddenly felt a chill in his back. He look behind him and saw the door he went out from earlier was two doors away.

Didn’t he already walked far? Right. The hallways is long so it must be just his imagination. Byul walked again and felt a chill on his spine as soon as he took a step towards the end of the hallway.

His heart thumped loudly on his chest as he finally felt something weird on his back. It’s like an invisible pair of eyes were watching him but he only felt it for a moment. Byul look af the corner of his eyes and blinked hard. He almost gauged his eyeballs at the sight he saw.

There was a silhouette standing in his peripheral vision and it was really disturbing.

He knew there was no one there and he walked far seeing no one in his way. There’s no way that’s Stanley. He never met him on the way and he made sure to check. So how could it be possible to have a silhouette of a person in his back?

Byul slowly turned his head.

‘No one’

Byul sighed. It must be his shadow. He walked ahead slowly however, the second he took another steps toward the edge of the hallway. He would feel a sudden chill.

Byul turned his head again. This time he felt irritated. As he turned his head he saw no one. As in, no person or whatsoever. Byul glanced around before he darted his eyes on front.

Just then, he realized that something seems off.

He glance at the side and saw two rooms before the one he went off to.

“…”

Again, he walked ahead, this time he counted his steps.

50..51..52…’

After the 60th, he felt a chill on his back and now he finally got scared. If he turned, he’ll see the same scene again or it might be something worst! Byul panicked, cold sweats pour down on his face as he trembled on his spot.

This is getting weird! What the heck!

Byul closed his eyes and abruptly turned around. One sec, two sec, he opened his eye slowly.

“….!”
