“I don’t know what will happen if she is taken, but do so alive. Meryl you still have that tracking equipment on you?” Mason asked. “Never leave home without it.” He tells him. “See if you can plant one the vehicle. “On it, Alpha.” Meryl says.
Nick was still asleep in the back when Meryl approached the vehicle. Derrick was keeping watch on Josiah and Mason’s men. Meryl designed the tracking device himself. He made so it was undetectable and couldn’t be found. He slowly opened the gas compartment and dropped it in the tank.
“Tracker is on and working.” Meryl says through the mind-link. “Mack, maybe we should warn Skylar that Josiah and Shaba are close by.” Tanner says. “Already done.” Mack tells him. “Alpha, Shaba and Josiah and the third gentleman are the only ones. No body else has shown up.” Der
“Alpha Tanner, we may have a problem.” Philly said through the mind-link. “What’s up?” Tanner asked. “Shaba returned to the gas station. She pulled in just as we were pulling. I am going to double back to make sure she isn’t following us. Never mind. She and Josiah just pulled on the interstate headed in your direction.” Philly tells him. “Stand by one.” Tanner tells him. He informed Mack and Mason of what Philly just told him. “I know she knows Philly’s scent, from when my phone went missing, but why would she double back to the station?” He asked. “Maybe she left something behind.” Tanner says. “Or someone.” Mack says. “Mind-link Lincoln and find out if there was a third party with them.” “If I am recalling correctly there was a third in the backseat.” Mason told them. “Were there any other wolves there, before you left?” Tanner aske
“Damnit!” Josiah cursed. “The whole damn place is empty.” Nick said very calmly. “Well, no shit. We can all see that.” Josiah yells at him. “Mack, he warned them, we were coming.” Shaba says. “I told you we didn’t have the time to get Nick, and to pick him on the way back.” “Shut up.” Josiah. “We still have the grandchild card to play with Skylar and there is no better place for her to be than right in the middle of our enemies.” Shaba says. “I don’t understand how Mack beat us here and got everybody out so damn quickly.” Josiah says out loud. “Unless she was long gone from this place already.” Shaba says holding an envelope with Josiah’s name on it. “She left this for you.” Josiah took the letter from Shaba and stared at the envelope. The note was dated three years ago. “You going to read it?” Nick asked. “I already know what it says.” He replied as he looked at Shaba and said these words. “Don’t move. You are standing on a bomb.” “Fuck. If circumst
Josiah opened the door to the tool shed and walked in. The place looked like it had been cleaned out and cleaned to ensure nothing was left behind. He let out a heavy sigh as he scratched his head. He carefully walked around the outer edge of the interior looking for anything that would help him defuse the bombs. He almost didn’t find anything and gave up when his eyes spotted a crack in a seam along the floor, next to the work bench. The wouldn’t have noticed it, but it looked like someone tried to remove it in a hurry. He bent down to investigate further, when he spotted a switch underneath the work bench. He pressed it and the crack grew two inches bigger and revealed a small hidden cubby whole. Josiah jerked on the crack until it came off in his hand. Josiah appeared in the hole and there laid a single pair of rusty wire
“Well, what did your warlock have to say?” Tanner asked. “He gave me both bad and good news.” She said picking up the last of her things and setting them in bed of a pickup. The coven put most of their stuff in storage as soon as they had heard Josiah was free. “Josiah and Shaba live, but the third man that was with them did not survive. He was decapitated and killed after the first explosion. They managed to defuse 2 bombs. Which is why they survived.” She says.“Adam told me Shaba was not happy about the death of this man. She will be seeking revenge on me which means I am now in this until the end regardless.” She says looking at Tanner. “Mr. Tanner, I hope you are right about the Copa’s offering safe haven. I plan to send the young mothers and fathers there with the small children.” “Of course, my daughter is the Alpha Coven Elder now. She still has the council members to help keep her on the right pa
Adam knew he would be seen. He wasn’t worried about Josiah following them, since he astral projected from a good distance away and watched. There would be no physical tracks to follow. He even headed in the wrong direction from where he was and the rest of the coven. It would take a little while for Josiah to even discover the ruse.Little did Adam know, but Josiah wouldn’t discover it for quite some time. Astral projection was not something the witches talked or wrote about. It was the only way they could keep watch with a close eye. Depending on a witch’s level of power, they could go undetected like a fly on the wall.Adam had decided that he would astral project to check on Josiah, since his brother would be driving to see if they were still safe or if he had somehow managed to figure out that they had been duped. He checked on the horses and, in the trailer, and sent them positive thoughts before floating through the air.He came across th
“Are you sure you heard correctly?” Mack asked. “Yes Shaba said she would not be fooled this time and that Philly was going to lead her right to Skylar.” “What did she mean by not fooled this time? Think really hard.” “Shit, she said she was going to try and pick up on his scent in the morning, then she would turn the opposite way of his scent.” Adam said recollecting her words.“That doesn’t mean Philly is in with her, but we knew she may have seen him when she turned back yesterday to pick up a third person.” Mack says. “She called him Nick and said he meant the world to her. I think she was talking to his mate or a parent. She apologized for the loss.” Adam continues. “What else did she say?” Skylar asked. Adam hesitated before looking up. “You have a granddaughter. She told Josiah that she would call and see if her location was found.” He says. “What?&rd
The next morning Shaba made some phone calls and no location for the granddaughter has been found so far. “I should have had them tailed that day. Then we would know where they were living.” She said as Josiah was came back from paying the check. “We will find her. Even if we have to set up another meeting and then do a snatch and grab.” Josiah told her. “Did you catch Philly’s scent?” He asked her. “Yes, hang a left out of the gas station.” “Are you sure, last time you said you got fooled.”“Yeah last time I followed the scent. This time we will go the opposite direction.” “Do you think they may have anticipated that?” “I have which is why I have already called back up. Daniel, who knows Philly’s scent just as well if not better, is taking a few with him and going to follow his scent while we go the opposite way.” “Good plan.” Josiah says.3
“We should be there by the end of the day.” Mack tells Ashur. “You haven’t seen Shaba or any of her rogues?” He asked. “No Philly has been doing a great job of keeping them off our trail. By the time she is aware of where we are, we will be pulling into the gates.” Mack said. “I’ll let Nezerra know. Felan is happy you will be returning here. She knows soon she can see her mother.” “Ashur, Aaliyah is not with us. She stayed back at her father’s pack.” “We know, Mack, but Felan is certain this Shaba business will end soon.” “I hope she is right. Where is she and Keyne at anyways?” “Out for a run, since they both have their wolves it is hard to keep them inside. I also think Keyne has realized the Felan is his mate.” “Why is that?” “He is started to show some talents very similar to Felan’s.” “What kind of Talents?” Mack asked. “You remember the old barn we use to get drunk in, right after we first met?” “Yeah, down by beach. Didn’t it collapse after that one real bad storm?”
