He can get his eyes off her. She is undeniably stunning.

“Hi,” he said shyly.

He cussed under his breath. He should have said, “Good evening”, ‘What time did you get here?”, or “I brought a jacket for you because I thought it's really chilly outside.” Lachlan had practiced phrases he searched online for this occasion. However, he went blank in front of her. Instead of what he rehearsed, a casual 'hi' was all he uttered.

Maridelle smiled. She felt the nervousness eating Lachlan. Before she came to their meeting place, she was lucky to have a chat with her Aunt Lily and Amari. It was the two women who narrated how this whole courting thing is very new to Lachlan.

“You look good,” she complimented.

Lachlan cannot hide his beaming smile, all thanks to the butterflies on his tummy. “Really? Thank you.”
