The Power Within

The night in the pack mansion was in serene silence. The moonlight streaming through the windows created long shadows on the golden floors. Diva stood near Derek's door, her hands moist and her heart pounding hard in her chest.

She was aware that he was indoors. His fragrance lingered in the atmosphere—recognizable, profound, and undeniably his. He had come back earlier that day from the nearby pack, and although everyone in the house was aware of his return, none had spotted him yet. The only ones stationed outside were the guards.

She had been waiting for the right time to go in.

She turned the handle and gently pushed the door open without knocking.

Derek stood by the window, slightly turned to her direction. The moonlight illuminated the contours of his face, emphasizing the strain in his shoulders. He didn't face her, but he could sense that she was the one who walked in.

"You're back," Diva whispered softly, her tone steady despite her chaotic thoughts.

He then turned, his weary eyes observing her closely. "You should be taking a resting, Diva."

“I know but I need us to talk about something,” she answered, remaining where she was.

He indicated a chair by the fireplace, but she declined with a shake of her head. She refused to sit. She preferred not to feel at ease. “Tell me the truth.” “Why am I here?” she questioned straightforwardly.

Derek's expression remained largely the same, but his eyes became more intense and focused. “You were chosen to be my Luna,” he said, his tone measured. “I didn’t even want you, I never imagined someone like you will be my Luna. But when the spirits speak, we listen.”

“But you hesitated,” she said, watching him carefully. “Even now, I feel it. Like I was placed in a story that was never mine to begin with, I have begged you free me so that I can go.”

Derek turned fully toward her, his arms crossed. “i can't do that, not now because something about this whole thing doesn't feel right and I need to discover every truth behind it before I let you go.”

Diva blinked, thrown off by the honesty in his voice. “What about the challenge you wanted to pull? You said if I win you will let me go. What about that?”

“I know I said that but the challenge is off” he replied instantly. “You belong to me and like I said, untill I discover every truth behind this whole thing you remain here.”

Her jaw tightened. “Fine, but why are you overprotective of me like you expect me to love you when you clearly dislike me.”

“I never asked you to love me,” he said, softer now. “But I won’t lie to you either. There was someone before. Linan. My true mate. She vanished years ago without any words, and everyone presumed she's dead because it has taken years and she's yet to be return.”

Diva felt something twist in her chest—an ache she didn’t want to acknowledge. “Do you still believe she’s alive?”

He hesitated, eyes fixed on the window again. “Sometimes. In dreams. In the way the wind sounds when I’m alone. But I have no proof. Just ghosts.”

You see what I'm saying, let me go so that you can concentrate on finding her. She may be alive waiting for you to come to her rescue."

“Don't tell me what to do Diva” he said firmly. “I accepted you because I had to. Because fate demands things of us we don’t always understand. But I see you, Diva. I see your strength. And I won’t let the past swallow that.”

Diva’s aura pulsed faintly—barely noticeable, but Derek caught it. His eyes narrowed. “It’s happening again, isn’t it?”

She nodded, eyes troubled. “I touched the wall in the northern wing earlier today. Something stirred in me. Since I came here, I’ve been... different. Like a switch was flipped and I can’t find the off button.”

He looked at her, a flicker of something like concern—or fear—passing through his gaze. “That power isn’t from me. I didn’t awaken it. But if it’s waking now... it’s not by accident.”

She stepped back toward the door, her breath shaky. “I need to think. I need space to figure out what’s happening to me.”

Derek didn’t move to stop her.

“And Derek,” she added, glancing over her shoulder. “If you're still holding onto her—truly holding on—then don’t expect me to be loyal to you cause I will never be. And also know that I hate you even more than you hate me.”

She walked out without saying another word, leaving Derek standing in the quiet of his chamber, the weight of memory pressing heavily on his shoulders.

The past hasn't finished yet.

And neither was the story that had just begun.

  • Blood Oath Of The Alpha    Diva's Desperation

The night still and everywhere around the mansion was quite. Not even the owls that usually made noose around the mansion were quite and peaceful, the whole place felt like an entire forest that held its breath.Inside her chambers, Diva sat down on the cold floor with her knees folded and drawn to her chest, her arms wrapped around herself tightly like she was cold, she felt that way not because of sorrow over betrayal, but because she wanted freedom. She wished for it. Hungered for it. And Derek denied her the one thing she craved above all else. She had pleaded with him—gently, then fiercely—but he refused to let her leave the mansion. Not for a moment. Not even to breathe in the forest air that once made her feel alive. Every answer he gave came wrapped in concern and authority, but it all boiled down to control. She was caged, and tonight, it broke her.Tears slipped silently down her cheeks. Not for him. Not for his silence or secrets. But for herself. For the aching wildness in

Within those shadows, secrets passed from one traitor’s mouth to another’s ear, reveling things.Kieran stood near the east wing balcony, arms folded, eyes flicking toward the guard at the far post—Ronan’s spy. On the surface, the man looked like any other warrior: uniform crisp, stance disciplined, demeanor cold. But Kieran knew better. He stepped away from the corner and walked toward the guard with the quiet confidence of someone in control.“You’re off patrol in ten,” Kieran said under his breath, barely moving his lips. “Meet me by the storage cellar.”No acknowledgment. The room was quiet, and nothing moved apart from the flame in the lantern that was lit. Diva has returned back to her room to have some rest after the meeting with the seer. She had too many questions in her mind that need answers but right now, her body was exhausted. Her thoughts are tangled, and the effect of the drink the seer gave her was too much on her as she feels sleepy. Diva took off as her eyes closed gently and the world around her faded. It started with a gentle breeze. She stood barefoot in a meadow filled with silver flowers that swayed with the wind. The moon shone above, full and clear, casting a pale glow on everything. For a moment, peace settled in her chest. She looked around. The air smelled of lavender. Somewhere far off, she could hear the sound of a stream flowing. A place she had never seen, but something about it felt familiar. Then, it changed. The flowers started to wither. The grass turned dark, brittle. The soft sound of water was replaced with the low

  • Blood Oath Of The Alpha    The Calm Before

The sun has not yet risen for the day as it was still early in the morning when Kieran stood at the edge of the northern boundary with his eyes looking left and right to see if anyone was coming. He kept glancing over his shoulder, anxious yet composed. No sentries patrolled this stretch of the forest wall; he’d made sure of that by altering the patrol schedule earlier in the week. Everything was lining up perfectly.A shadow emerged from the tree line—quick, quiet, lethal. The rogue. He was lean, sinewy, his coat dusted with ash to dim the silver of his fur. Kieran raised a clawed hand, and the rogue halted just beyond the clearing."You're late," Kieran said under his breath, glancing toward the towering den-lodge in the distance."You changed the meeting time twice," the rogue replied, voice cold and rasping. "I don't like games."Kieran’s lips curved into a half-smile. "Neither does Ronan. So don’t screw this up."He stepped aside, revealing a narrow breach in the stone barrier. T

The sun started its slow descent, creating long shadows across the clearing where the practice area met the woods. The wooden training sword she held felt heavier than it did an hour before. Still, she stayed with determined look as all her focus was fixed on Caleb.“Let's go again,” she said with an authoritative voice. Caleb stopped for a minute as he placed his hands on his waist. "Are you certain?" It was six rounds. "I'm quite certain I sensed my shoulder click in the final one." “Once more,” she reiterated, not diverting her gaze. With a weary grin and a defeated nod, he lifted his sword and advanced toward her. The sound of wood striking wood resonated in the clearing as they advanced, quick and purposeful. Caleb was powerful and talented—but Diva was unyielding. She evaded a hit, pivoted down, and knocked his legs out from beneath him. He landed on the ground with a sigh. "Don't let me upset you again next time," he said quietly, massaging his back. Diva didn’t smile. She
