Thank you all for reading! I am currently at the lake with my family for the holiday weekend. However, I am seriously behind in my writing so I will be posting randomly and hopefully getting a few chapters out each day. I can't remember what I all told you but my dog was diagnosed with cancer and then we had a pipe burst in our basement so it's been a month. However, I am getting back into the swing of things! Thank you for your support and understanding!
Demi POV“Demi…” Amelia looked at me with tears in her eyes. “… I swear I didn’t know!” A fresh wave of tears ran down her face. My heart broke for her. “Amelia.” Holding out my arms, I pulled her into a hug. “Please don’t hate me.” I whispered in her ear. “Hate you?” She leaned back and cocked her head to the side. “What do you mean?”“Everything will be okay.” It was all I could think to say.“Okay? My mate is a traitor and you are going to kill him!” Amelia had switched to sorrow to frantic and angry. “I just found him! What if I’m pregnant and don’t know it? I won’t survive without him! You are killing me too!” “Calm down!” I almost commanded. “Come on. Let’s go talk this out.” Grabbing her hand, I tried to pull her along, but she wasn’t having it.“Why? So you can just kill him in front of me? I won’t let it happen!” Amelia started stomping off in the direction they drug an unconscious Reese out of. “Demi…?” Nora looked unsure as she stopped me from following her.“I’m okay.
“Carry them both to the dungeons.” My voice held a certain restraint. However, it was my arms keeping Demi back as her wolf was taking over. “I’ll kill them.” She growled. “Demi! Please!” Winston tried to plead with Demi. “I’m innocent! It wasn’t me!” “My dad trusted you!” His eyes widdened as her claws came out. “NO!” He screamed but they had already pulled him out of the main room. “Demi!” Turning her around, I had to force her eyes on me. “Look at me. We have them. We have the people responsible for your pack’s murders.” Tears replaced the black as her claws retracked. “Winston killed my family.” She whispered. “Demi!” Nora came up behind us. Demi looked around and ran into her arms. “I don’t believe it. It’s over!” She cried as Nora held her close. Even Callie came over to give her a hug. Soon most of the woman had came over to lead their support. I looked over to see dad nodding his head towards the door. “Watch her.” I whispered to Heath and took off after my dad. I wa
Luca POVMy heart was racing. Was Becca right? Did June have another child? I mean, it wouldn’t affect my role as Alpha. Still, I don’t see how that would affect Alpha Gordon and his entire pack being killed. Becca might have just been spreading drama. Still, she usually isn’t wrong.Demi was looking around for me. As soon as her eyes landed on me, she came rushing over as quickly as she could. I couldn’t help but notice how pale she was. As much as she doesn’t think this pregnancy is taking it out of her, I can see it.“Did you hear that?” She whispered when she got closer. Grabbing her arm, I pulled her to the side where no one could overhear us. “I did.” “What do you think?” Demi glanced around, nervous about being overheard. “I think Becca usually isn’t wrong, but she loves drama. She could be saying this just to stir the pot and watch it unfold. I mean, look.” I pointed over to Peggy, having a very obvious and heated debate with Grim.“Look at Becca.” I continued to point over
It had been a solid hour of smiling, congratulations, hugs, pictures, and small talk. My stomach was rumbling, demanding to be fed. This child was very impatient when it came to food. The buffet style made the entire venue smell like so many different flavors that my stomach was having a hard time. “Luca, I’ll be right back.” I said in the mind-link. I had to turn and run away before he had time to physically acknowledge me. “Are you okay?” He seemed worried. “Do you need help?” “No. I’m okay.” Thankfully, the women’s bathroom was very clearly labeled. To make things better, no one was inside. Something about vomiting when you have an audience was uncomfortable. I had just emptied my stomach when I heard the door open. “Are you serious?” I heard Lilith whisper.“YES! I over heard Heather talking to Heath about it. Luca’s brother and Demi’s ex, Chase is behind it!”Peggy seemed very enthused about this latest information, almost gitty about it. “I can’t believe it! He was so pisse
There was a soft laughter that echoed across the room before they quieted down. “Luca, I wasn’t sure what I was going to say yesterday. Nora asked me if I had anything written down or any idea what I wanted to say.” Another round of laughter filled the room as I shifted uncomfortably in my heels. “My history is not a pretty one. It’s full of regret, nightmares and trauma that would send most people into a home. Yet, my wolf wouldn’t let me give up. She kept pushing me to keep moving forward. I never really understood why she did this. I was happy staying in the shadows. Living my life one make-shift house to the next. It wasn’t important for me to build anything. That was until I met you. You forced me to realize there was another way. Every time I rejected your idea of love and family, you never gave up. Every time I was ready to run away, you held me. Every time I had a thought of doubt in my head, you were there to encourage me. You never lost your temper with me… well, almost nev
“It’s time.” Heath stood up and moved closer to us. “Alpha Dylan and Luna Callie, you are to go first. Then Alpha Hunter and Luna June.” “Fine,” June barked as she straightened her sparkly red dress. Callie had a sad smile on her face as she touched my cheek before turning back to Dylan. His movements were stiff as we made our way to the line up spot. Luca was going to walk up with Heath and Heather. Nora and Jared were being be right behind Dylan and Callie. Each set slowly moved down the aisle through the opened doors the guards held as it was our time. Soon, it was Luca’s turn to make his way down. I only got to see a tiny bit since they closed the doors quickly after. “You look beautiful, Alpha Demi.” One of the guards said, catching my attention. “Thank you.” My smile was right on cue as they opened the doors, telling me it was my turn. The music changed, but I couldn’t focus on what it was as I started walking. Everyone was looking at me. The colors June picked out were no
