Unexpected request

Beverly was shocked and immediately held Heather's hand. "What kind of trouble? Are you alright? Do you need my help?"

Heather shook her head. "I can't involve you in this, Beverly. It's too dangerous. But I just wanted to let you know that I may not be as available as I used to be. And if anything happens to me, I want you to know that you are one of my closest friends."

Beverly looked skeptically at Heather, but saw that she was serious. She nodded in understanding and they chatted for a while longer before Heather had to leave.

As Heather drove away from Beverly's mansion, she couldn't help but feel a sense of loneliness. She knew that getting involved in criminal activities was putting herself in danger, but it was the only way she could survive in this ruthless world. She hoped she could find a way out before it was too late.

------

Heather entered her large living room and was shocked to see Mack at first.

"Why do you look like you've seen a ghost?" Mack asked, shrugging. He was sitting in the living room watching the news. The news of Alonso's death came on. Mack stood up at once. That was his father's underboss.

"What!" He said in shock. Heather watched as Mack's expression turned from shock to anger. "Alonso is dead," she said softly, confirming what he already knew.

"We need to find out who did this," Mack said sternly. "And make them pay."

Heather nodded in agreement, even though she was the one who actually killed Alonso. Her first step now was to gain Mack's trust. She took his hand and smiled at him.

"Did you know him?" She asked, and Mack stared into her eyes, which were screaming innocence, but she was far from that.

"No. I was just... It doesn't matter. I didn't know him," he muttered and smiled lightly.

"I have to go now, see you in the company tomorrow," Mack said hurriedly and stepped out of the house. Heather smirked.

"Fool, I will be your downfall," she said and went straight in.

------

The following morning at MGlobal limited, Heather halted her car in front of the mansion and stepped out. She sighed heavily and walked majestically into the company. The receptionist recognized her at once.

"The tenth floor, ma'am," the receptionist said, and she nodded. She put on her shades and started catwalking to the elevator, but stopped when she heard her name.

"Miss Heather?" He called, and she turned back to see Mack, who was looking dangerously handsome. She couldn't look away.

"Heather?" He called, and she blinked out of her rivalry. "Hey Mr. Mack," she muttered, and he chuckled. "Drop the formality," he said, smiling.

"And also to apologize for my behavior yesterday."

Heather raised an eyebrow, curious. "What behavior?"

Mack cleared his throat, a hint of embarrassment on his face. "I was a bit short with you when I found out about Alonso. I'm sorry if I came off as rude."

Heather smiled, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "It's fine. I don't hold grudges," she said, and Mack nodded, grateful for her understanding. "Thanks, Heather. I appreciate it."

As they walked towards the elevator together, Heather couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Mack was falling right into her trap, and soon he would be under her control. But for now, she had to play her part and gain his trust.

------

They both stepped out of the elevator, and Heather made to go, but Mack called her back.

"Yes?" She asked, and Mack cleared his throat, looking at her eyes nervously.

"Can you drop by at my place tonight for dinner?" He asked.

"Sure, no qualms," Heather said and bowed a bit before walking off. Mack just stood there, smiling like a teenager whose crush just confessed to him.

------

Heather rang the doorbell for the first time, but got no response. She was about to ring it for the second time when it opened widely. Mack popped his head out, covered in flour, and Heather couldn't help but laugh.

"Come in," Mack said, and Heather stepped in gently, looking around.

"Welcome to my humble abode," Mack said in an American accent, and Heather smiled lightly and nodded her head in acknowledgement.

"You can sit here. Let me freshen up," Mack said, and she nodded. He dashed up the stairs, and Heather sat on the couch. The last time she came here, she wasn't able to admire the building because she came as Terminator, not as Heather.

------

After what seemed like an eternity, Mack came down the stairs, looking hot as hell. Heather stared at him and quickly took her gaze away.

"Let's eat. Sorry for keeping you waiting," Mack said.

"It's fine, Mack," she muttered and he nodded. He pulled out a chair for her, and she sat. He sat beside her, and they started eating.

"How's my cooking?" He asked, and she nodded.

"It's awesome. I wish I could cook like you," she said and laughed nervously.

"I can teach you," Mack said, and she looked at him, getting lost in his eyes. Mack was also lost while looking at her. They both took their gaze away at the same time, resulting in an awkward silence. Suddenly, it started raining.

"Oh no!" Heather muttered. Mack stared at her.

"Seems you won't be going home tonight. Don't worry; I have extra rooms," Mack said, slightly happy, for a reason he couldn't place.

------

Heather walked out of the bathroom wearing one of Mack's hoodies he gave her when they were done with dinner. Heather noticed her reflection in the mirror and smirked.

"I have to make him fall in love with me, then I will strike," she muttered and smiled wickedly. Then, there was a knock on her door. She went to open it and found Mack staring at her from head to toe, and he surely liked what he was seeing. He was already hard as he shifted uncomfortably. Heather, on the other hand, was feeling hot too. Mack mustered up the courage to ask her what he really wanted at that moment.

"Heather," he called, and she turned to him. He was staring at her lips.

"Y-yes," she stuttered, feeling intimidated again. He took hold of her hand, and she looked at him. Then, he said it:

"Can I kiss you?"
