Prologue

PROLOGUE

The chaos was just starting to worsen. The SODAIR kingdom, led by the Human King, King Gaber was getting endless challenges from the Viper King, King Morton from BESHADONNA kingdom.

These two kings have been fighting a battle that their forefathers fought. Trying to survive, no one dared to negotiate since it only meant surrender.

The viper kingdom is known to take humans captive to their territory. They are so cunning and clever, with the use of their belladonna flowers, they tend to take humans astray, promising Utopia but then giving them endless pain and suffering from slavery.

The human king after all this, decided to build a fence to keep his people safe from the dangers of the vipers.

These vipers, held in human bodies, had green eyes and all had one motive; enslave humans. It was strictly prohibited to get close to one, because it would only bring demise to the human kingdom. He had to protect his people if the Viper king didn’t settle with negotiations.

During this short period of time, war ceased since the Viper King found no way on how to get close to the humans. Nearby the fences, cyclamens were grown in order to keep vipers away. Cyclamens tended to make them weak and won’t survive another day.

King Gaber sat on his throne with a lot in mind. He just hoped that the Viper King won’t wage another war soon, of fear of losing his Heir. His wife, Queen Marquis was expecting a child. He had to protect his people and him no matter the cost.

“It seems we succeeded in putting the fire at bay My lord.” His royal adviser said to him. He gazed at him thoughtfully as he replied,

“The Viper king is not to be trusted. He must be plotting something.”

“Whatever he’s plotting is definitely making him lose his focus on us.” The royal adviser insisted. “The people have not complained about any ambush from them.”

The king nodded in reassurance. Maybe King Morton was tired of this kind of fights that don’t last.

“But still we shouldn’t keep our hopes up. I wouldn’t want to endanger anybody’s lives this time.”

King Gaber said as he gazed at his royal adviser. The royal adviser bowed to him as he replied. “Yes, Your majesty. I’ll still look into it.”

When he was about to get out, a make servant came rushing in.

“Your Majesty!” The servant said as he rushed to the king. The king sat upright getting himself of the attention he seeks.

The servant bowed first as he tried to catch his breath.

“What is it?” King Gaber asked impatiently.

“You Majesty. It’s the Queen.” He said as he beamed.

“She gave birth to a daughter, Your Majesty. She is safe and sound.”

King Gaber stood up as he gazed at the servant with excitement in his eyes.

He laughed heartily as he said. “At last!”

The royal adviser expectantly walked toward the King.

“Your Majesty, it doesn’t cross your mind? That your next heir is a daughter?” He gazed at the king. King Gaber gazed at him solemnly.

“My wife has been trying to do everything she could to have a child of her own. I do not care if she is a girl or not. What I am glad about is I have a heir. And I do hope that you...will agree to this.”

The royal adviser gave a tight smile as he bowed his head once again. King Gaber’s attention returned to the servant.

“Please, escort me there. I would like to meet the mother of my child.” He said as he beamed to the servant. The servant nodded as he walked away with the King to head to the Queen’s chambers.

BESHADONNA

King Morton tapped furiously his index finger with the ring he had on his hand. He gazed around at how he was able to get more people during the last time he had a chance. But still his heart ached, that the human king could possibly be able to outrun him. This was not the way he wanted his reign to be. He needed more. He was born to get more.

“You seem to have a lot on your mind.” Claus, King Morton’s royal adviser said to him as he put the chalice with wine on top of the King’s table. The king took the chalice and had a sip. He then gazed at Claus.

“I feel reckless.”

“Not for long.” Claus said as he beamed. “It seems there is celebration at the human kingdom.”

“Celebration?” King Morton scoffed. “What are they celebrating exactly?”

“It seems he’s got himself a heir.” Claus said as he gazed at the King amused.

“Why do you sound happy about this? I feel all sore just sitting here lacking a strategy on how to make them lose and surrender to me.” King Morton said angrily.

“The heir is a daughter.” Claus added. King Morton, about to take another sip of wine, stopped in an instant. He kept the chalice on the table and gazed at Claus.

“A daughter? A female heir?” He said as he laughed hysterically.

“What a splendid thing don’t you think?”

“That’s what I thought to My lord.”

King Morton took a long sip of his wine and gazed at Claus with fire dancing in his eyes.

“King Gaber has gotten himself trapped. He has no where to go.” He said as he laughed devilishly.

“I need more wine!” He said giving the chalice to Claus.

“Bring more! We also need to celebrate!” He said as he laughed again.

“King Gaber,” he said as he gazed at the ring on his hand. “I have splendid surprises coming your way. I hope you will be ready to receive them.” He started laughing again, more devilishly that his voice rattled within the palace walls.
