"I am going to go get some blood from the kitchen," I said softly and Lucian released me and helped me up.

"Can we talk about this? I feel terrible…" Lucian said as he chewed on his bottom lip. I raised my hand at him to shut up.

"I don't want to speak with you at this moment. I know we are marked mates but that was just the wrong way to go about it," I mumbled softly and looked away from him.

"I was concerned about Faelon taking you, Nia. He's Lucifer's left hand and not a nice creature. I needed you marked so he wouldn't take you from here!" He shouted angrily and I rolled my eyes and glared at him.

"Listen to what you are saying, Lucian! Nothing about love for me. Just nonsense about your male pride!" I cried. Lucian looked concerned at me and shook his head.

"You are mine, Nia, you always were. I knew the moment I saw you at the rogue's village and you…no, we will build our love together," he stated assuredly and I continued walking to the door.
