Chapter 2

作者: Shirley
Hearing my audacity, Shen Xiu laughed in rage and drew his sword, ready to apprehend me before the Heavenly Gate.

But I had no patience to waste on him.

My black sword swept through the air, shattering the gate's defensive wards.

Before Shen Xiu could react, I had already broken through to the heart of the Celestial Realm, the Canonization Platform.

At that moment, celestial music drifted from the high platform, where a grand canonization ceremony was in full swing.

A celestial emissary held an edict, reciting it in a loud voice.

He extolled Green-Pouch Valley's "profound righteousness" and their "sacrifice of a master for the peace of the three realms."

The surrounding deities stroked their beards and nodded, showering the act with praise.

My Second Senior Sister, Liu Ying, stood on the high platform awaiting her title, her face flushed with excitement, draped in a shimmering celestial robe.

Shen Xiu, whom I had left in my wake, chased after me in a rage.

Seeing the scene, his expression changed. He said something to the captain of the guards, then hurried onto the platform to stand with Liu Ying.

Seeing me charge into the ceremony with a sword, Liu Ying was utterly shocked. She shrieked at me before the entire celestial court.

"Su Shuang, have you lost your mind?!"

"It was Master's fate to possess celestial bones! It was the will of the heavens that the Celestial Lord noticed him! We merely seized the opportunity to ascend. What are you doing here, causing trouble?!"

Looking at their self-righteous faces, I felt the foolish old man's death had been a true waste.

Shen Xiu and Liu Ying were the first orphans he had brought back to the valley when he was young.

He had poured his entire heart into raising them, forsaking his own chance at having children.

For all these years, Master and Auntie Qin had remained childless, dedicating all their energy to their disciples.

When Auntie Qin occasionally worried about having no one to care for them in their old age, the old man would always puff out his chest with a smile.

He said his judgment of character was never wrong, and that when his time came, this group of disciples would surely give him a proper mourning.

Unfortunately, Master's judgment was wrong.

But I knew how stubborn he was. If I did not give this pair of ungrateful wretches one last chance to repent, he would not be able to rest in peace.

So, echoing my master's spirit, I gave Shen Xiu and Liu Ying one chance.

"I will be the one to avenge Master. You do not need to get your hands dirty."

"The ceremony is not over yet. Return to Green-Pouch Valley, now."

"Go kowtow to Auntie Qin, kneel, and hold a vigil for the old man. It is not too late."

Liu Ying, spoiled by our master since childhood, could not stand being ordered around like this.

She erupted in fury, pointing a finger at my nose and cursing.

"Who the hell do you think you are to lecture me?"

"Guards! Seize this insolent madwoman!"

Shen Xiu made a show of holding her back, his face a mask of sanctimonious hypocrisy.

"Junior Sister, do not be foolish. Green-Pouch Valley is just a rundown place in the mortal realm. Master toiled there his whole life and achieved nothing."

"Besides, now that we have all ascended to godhood, is this not the greatest glory for our sect?"

As he spoke, he reached out to grab my wrist. The celestial soldiers on either side also charged forward with their long spears.

My eyes turned cold. With a flick of my wrist, I performed a casual flourish with my sword.

The soldiers at the very front froze.

The next moment, their bodies were ripped apart like paper, not even a wisp of their souls left to escape.

The entire platform fell silent before the assembled gods erupted into an uproar.

Shen Xiu, aghast, brandished the celestial sword he had just been awarded and stabbed straight for my heart.

I stood my ground, neither dodging nor flinching, and met his attack with a swing of my own.

With a sharp clang, his celestial sword snapped in two.

Before he could process what had happened, my longsword had already pierced his chest.

Shen Xiu did not even have time to scream before he collapsed in a pool of blood, his eyes wide with death.

Liu Ying stumbled back in terror, her voice trembling. "Su Shuang, what demonic weapon is that?!"

She was terrified because Shen Xiu had just been deified; ordinary magical artifacts could not even get near him.

I casually flicked the blood from my blade. "Demonic weapon? A lowly demon is not worthy of holding it."

"But you will understand what it is soon enough."

"Since Senior Brother was so heartless, his lifetime of cultivation might as well christen my blade."

"You vicious bitch!" Liu Ying's eyes turned crimson as she summoned her own magical artifact, ready to fight me to the death.

But before she could charge off the platform, an old official with a knowing gaze grabbed her arm.

The old official stared at the black longsword in my hand, his face ashen, pointing with a trembling finger as he shouted.

"Lady Liu, do not go! That sword... it is unnatural! It is devouring his divine soul!"

Liu Ying was full of scorn, snarling through gritted teeth, "Demonic artifacts are always strange. What is there to be afraid of?!"

The old official stumbled backward, his voice shaking uncontrollably.

"No. You have just ascended. You do not understand!"

"A fan in form, a sword in essence. It devours gods and severs the cycle of reincarnation. For millennia, there has only been one such peerless, malevolent weapon."

"But... but was it not personally destroyed by the Celestial Lord in the Nine Hells?!"

When I brutally tore open my chest and dug out my own heart in the courtyard of Green-Pouch Valley, Auntie Qin wept until she was hoarse. She cursed me as she rushed over."Shuang'er, are you mad?! What in the world are you doing?!"Duanyuan, in his human form, blocked her path. Choking back a sob, he explained, "She is reviving Master Gu."This heaven-defying forbidden art was a secret known to none in the three realms but Duanyuan. The heart of the Lord of the Abyssal Void, that core of black flame, possesses the divine power to regrow flesh on bone and bring the dead to life.Auntie Qin stopped short, muttering in a daze, "If she loses her heart... what will happen to her?"Duanyuan clenched his jaw, silent for a long moment before he managed to force out the truth. "She will fall forever into the void, her soul annihilated, never to be reborn."Auntie Qin's body trembled violently. She began to shriek at me, a heart-wrenching, desperate cry. "No! Shuang'er, stop!""Even if your mas

On that day, the colossal roar of the Celestial Palace's collapse shook the three realms. The mortals on earth looked up at the sky in horror, only to see a torrential rain of crimson falling from the heavens.Someone held out a hand to catch it, brought it to their nose, and then screamed in terror, "Blood! This rain is blood!""What in the world has happened in the Nine Heavens?!"The mortals, of course, would never know that at that moment, the lofty heavens had already become a mountain of the dead in a sea of blood. The once-celestial-wreathed palace was now a ruin. In the dead silence, only Jun Che and I remained, both of us on the verge of utter exhaustion.Duanyuan's spirit let out a deafening, mournful cry, roaring in fury, "Jin Yao, I'll finish this bastard for you!"I weakly pressed my hand on the hilt, my gaze as firm as ice."The blood debt for my master... I must be the one to claim it myself.""Besides, you can't beat him."Sensing that I was forcibly drawing on the most

Auntie Qin stared blankly at my unfamiliar, demonic face.Jun Che, thinking she had recognized the demon's identity and would recoil in horror, continued his incitement. "Kill this demon! If she dies, I guarantee that Green-Pouch Valley will ascend and prosper for all eternity!"Jun Che was the same as he was a hundred years ago, a master manipulator who understood the human heart to its core.He was certain I would never raise a hand against Auntie Qin and sought to use a mortal's fear to cut me again, without spilling a drop of his own blood. But Auntie Qin quickly came to her senses. She messily wiped the tears from her face, scrambled to her feet, and resolutely stood in front of me."This old woman doesn't know anything about demon lords.""I only know that Shuang'er is the child I raised with my own two hands.""And I know my late husband's temper better than anyone.""He devoted his life to healing. Even if it cost him his life, he would never have traded Shuang'er for some damn

The moment I finished speaking, a ball of black abyssal flame erupted from my palm, shooting toward Jun Che's face with the force of a thunderbolt. He snorted and, with a flick of his sleeve, dispersed the demonic energy, his eyes full of contempt."You think to harm me with a mere mortal's trick?"I smiled. "The Celestial Lord is so clever, yet so foolish.""This killing blow was never aimed at you. It was for your precious wife."Jun Che's expression changed in an instant. He whipped his head around. But the space beside him was empty.Chao Yan was already in my grasp, her fragile throat locked in my hand.Jun Che's face flushed with panic, but he dared not make a rash move.He said urgently, "If you have a grievance, direct it at me! Let Yan'er go!""What happened back then has nothing to do with her. She is a mere mortal!"My face was impassive. "How could it have nothing to do with her?""Inside that delicate body of hers, she is still hiding something of mine."Before the words h

Jun Che's pupils contracted. "Absurd!" he said, his voice full of disbelief."Given Jin Yao's nature, how could she have possibly hidden a pregnancy from me!"I looked at him, my expression unreadable. "If you had known of the child's existence back then, would you still have struck that fatal blow?"On the day of our wedding, the day I was betrayed, I had only just sensed the small life within me.My heart was full of joy. I had planned to save it for our wedding night, to give him a wonderful surprise. But he never gave me the chance. For the hundred years since I was reforged, I had endlessly wondered. If he had known he was about to become a father, would that palm strike still have landed without a shred of mercy?Today, I would finally hear the answer from his own lips. But the answer, as always, was cruel.Jun Che hesitated for a moment, then his face contorted into a mask of cold, righteous fury. The word "husband" made Jun Che freeze.Liu Ying, collapsed on the ground, thought I had lost my mind. Enduring the searing pain of her broken bones, she screamed, "Su Shuang! You're at death's door and you still dare to spout such lies!""Everyone in the three realms knows the Celestial Lord has only ever had one wife!"Even the usually graceful and gentle Chao Yan flushed with anger. She pointed at me, her voice sharp. "You vile demon, you have no shame!""I have been with my husband for centuries and have never once heard of another wife!"Yes. How could these latecomers possibly know?On that wedding day, the gods and celestials who witnessed Jun Che's betrayal had long since been silenced, either by death or by decree.Jun Che had gone to great lengths to ensure the three realms would worship him as the peerless hero who suppressed the demonic realm.
