Alexander’s POV

Mira’s nightmare was probably a consequence of her exhaustion and stress from preparing for the Harvest Festival and the coronation. She had promised me to rest more, but still, since morning, she had been supervising the festival preparations, refusing to step away even for a moment.

“It turned out beautiful,” James said, looking around.

Indeed, it was. The palace gardens glowed under strings of fairy lights, their soft shimmer reflected in decorations crafted from fruits and vegetables—symbols of abundance and harvest. The air was thick with the scent of roasted meat, spiced wine, and sweet pastries drifting from the stalls. In the arena, archery and horse-riding competitions were set, alongside several other contests meant to entertain and challenge.

“Mira and the ladies really did a good job,” I said, watching people move through the gardens with open smiles instead of guarded looks.

“Your mate will make a great queen,” James remarked.

I nodded, unable to stop the

Mira’s POVI wasn’t chained. That was the first thing I noticed when I woke up, and it should have terrified me more than iron restraints ever could. The room was spacious, dark in colour, with gold patterns etched into the walls. Everything surrounding me screamed luxury—far more excessive than my palace in Eradrakor. I lay on a wide bed covered in dark linen that smelled faintly of roses and something unfamiliar. For a long moment, I didn’t move, trying to process what had happened to me.My body ached in that deep, hollow way it always did after magic was used on me without my consent. I felt weak. I tried to call Asfar, but I couldn’t reach her. The bonds—both of them—were quiet. Not severed. Just… distant. Like hearing thunder far away and knowing a storm existed somewhere beyond the horizon. That scared me more than chains ever could. The door opened without a sound.I turned my head slowly, already bracing myself. He didn’t rush in. Didn’t look. He paused just inside the thresh

  • Born to Rule: The Dragon Queen   Chapter 124: Guess Who He Is to Her

Alexander’s POVKing Alfred was standing there with a mocking grin, lifting his chin in triumph, enjoying my pain. The sight of him made something snap inside my chest. A violent surge of adrenaline crashed through me, a red mist flooding my vision. I could see only King Alfred in the room—his beautiful face, his cruel, satisfied smile. Everything else faded. My body coiled tight, vibrating with heat and fury. My heart slammed against my ribs so hard it hurt, and my logical mind drowned beneath a primal, deafening urge to strike back.I could not control myself any longer. I felt like a force of nature, driven by pure, unadulterated instinct—to destroy that bastard. My claws extended, slicing the air as I lunged, ready to rip him into pieces.Multiple strong hands grabbed me, stopping me cold. King Cassius. Dorrin. James. The restraint only fed my rage. How dare they try to save him?“Son, be reasonable. You can’t just attack the king of another realm without any evidence,” King Ca

Dorrin’s POVIt felt as though the floor had vanished, leaving me suspended in a cold, ringing silence where the world was nothing but static. My mind went white, unable to process what had just happened, while a strange, heavy numbness settled into my chest like lead. For a heartbeat too long, I couldn’t even remember how to breathe. The roar of Storm, who tried to take control, returned me to reality—violent, furious, clawing at my bones as if my dragon could force the world to undo what it had just taken from us.Mira had just disappeared into the mirror.Gone. As if she had never been here at all.Alexander was standing there, touching the glass surface of the mirror, his fingers pressed flat against it, desperate, disbelieving. But the glass looked ordinary—cold, smooth, cruelly normal. The maids were pale, gasping in shock, one of them covering her mouth as if afraid the sound of her own breathing might shatter what little control remained in the room.“Damn it,” cursed Alexande

Mira’s POV Waiting for my mates to finish their meetings, I fell asleep and didn’t even wake up when they arrived. I woke up so well-rested, wrapped in warmth, to find my mates watching me. “Good morning, love,” Dorrin whispered, pecking my lips. “My queen,” Alexander murmured, kissing me softly. “Are you ready for your big day?” Dorrin asked, playing with a strand of my hair, his touch grounding. “Yeah, but no mud and torture,” I mumbled. They both froze, looking at me in confusion. I giggled quietly. “Last time, I went through hell getting ready for my coronation. A spa should be a pleasure, but it was more like torture.” Dorrin chuckled. “No, this time only a bath. The maids will help with your hair and makeup. And both of us will get ready with you.” Alexander ran a hand through his hair and winked at me. “Don’t future king need to look handsome on their coronation day?” “And after last time, we’re not taking any chances,” Dorrin added. “One of us will always

  • Born to Rule: The Dragon Queen   Chapter 121: He Is in My Head

Mira’s POVAlready shaken by Liora’s half-truths, all I wanted was rest before tomorrow’s big day. Silence. Distance. To hide in the familiar comfort of my chambers, wrapped in the safety of my mates’ presence—even if they were not physically there. I was drained, raw, and absolutely not in the mood for conversations. And of course, fate—or cruelty—made sure I ran into the last person I wanted to see.“Queen Miroslava, why are you in such a rush?” King Alfred asked as we collided in the hallway. Before I could even inhale to answer, his gaze slid over me slowly, lingering where it had no right to linger. “Pregnancy looks good on you,” he added smoothly. “You look even more irresistible.”From his lips, even compliments felt like insults—oily, unwanted, invasive. My skin crawled. I wanted nothing more than to brush past him and leave, to put distance between us. But I was a Queen, and he was a King of another realm—our guest.Duty forced my spine straight.“King Alfred,” I nodded polit

  • Born to Rule: The Dragon Queen   Chapter 120: The Question That Haunts Me

Mira’s POV Yesterday, I almost met my death and faced betrayal of a royal court—faces Alexander trusted, who wanted to murder me in cold blood. Tomorrow, I would be crowned as the Werewolf Queen, with even more responsibility pressing on my shoulders, heavier than any crown, heavier than steel. Yet none of that was what kept my chest tight, my thoughts spiralling. Why was the only thing on my mind, my mysterious saviour? The man who appeared and vanished like smoke. Who was he? And why did he protect me? Diana approached me, lowering herself to sit beside me on the emerald grass. The scent of earth and dew did nothing to calm the restless storm inside me. “Here you are, hiding. Some early guests for tomorrow’s coronation have already started to arrive,” she said, then added after studying my face, “Are you all right? You look… disturbed.” I bit my lip, hard enough to feel it sting. If I didn’t speak now, I felt like my thoughts would consume me. Diana was the only one
