52. Beginning Of the Drama

Denise went to the pantry with one of the girls whose name was Judy. Judy was a nice little lass and she talked a lot and Denise did not mind because she knew that if she wanted people to like her in this house, she had to be friendly and furthermore, she knew how to be beaten and she couldn't treat people like that. She had to be an exemplary boss.

Judy was amazed at how Denise seemed to know what she wanted and she didn't ask any questions as she went through the things packed in the pantry. She wondered when a rich lady learned all these. According to Judy, who had come from an ordinary family, she thought that someone like Ansel would only get married to a person of his status. So, she could never think that Denise wasn't rich.

When they reached the pantry, Denise was amazed. She wondered what all this food was for. It was like they were stocking up for the apocalypse. But she had to act the part of the lady of the house and she thus didn't show Judy that she was surprised.
