Stacie’s POV
The drive to his house was quiet and quite uncomfortable; I was seated in the back seat of a sleek Porsche car while the middle-aged woman from earlier sat in the front with a driver who was too relaxed to be an employee.
“What’s your name?” The driver asked with an audacity that baffled me.
“Stacie” I whispered, suppressing my anger and ignoring the lopsided grin on the driver’s face.
“I don’t think he’s a driver, his aura is too prominent,” Someone whispered. I looked around but found no one.
“Did you say something?” I asked the middle-aged woman who was beginning to stare at me with a funny expression on her face.
“I did.” The same voice replied, “And stop looking around, you look crazy!” She said with a laugh. In frustration, I closed my eyes and pressed my head against the windscreen close to where I sat. The voice was in my head.
“Who are you?” I whispered almost to myself, I pinched the bridge of my nose as her cheerful laugh rang through my head.
“I’m Ariel, your wolf.” Oh my fucking goodness! My eyes snapped open in shock. I had a wolf! Normally I shouldn’t be this shocked that I had a wolf, but I was because amongst my peers, I was the only one who didn’t get to meet my wolf last year when we all turned seventeen.
“Finally you came!” I replied with relief washing through me. The people of my clan thought I was weak, or a curse because I did not have a wolf.
To make matters worse, a lot of people had taken to my father, to advise him to remarry because they felt my mother had cheated on him with a human to give birth to me- an abomination!
“We’re late bloomers” She said with a laugh. Just as I was about to think of a sarcastic comeback for her statement, the driver said something that I didn’t quite catch.
“Huh?” I asked, looking up to find the both of them looking at me questioningly.
“I was curious as to why you are a slave but smell like royalty” He said making my heart race. I was torn in between telling this people who I was; So I could ask for help and keeping my identity hidden to protect myself. I chose the latter.
“I don’t know why either,” I muttered. I knew my answer was not convincing enough and was glad when they simply let it be.
For the rest of the drive to wherever it was that we were going, the car remained dead silent, even my wolf did not say a word…

A few minutes later, the sleek car came to a halt at the driveway of a very beautiful mansion. It was ten times that of my father which I had always taken pride in.
“We’re here!” The middle aged woman whispered, throwing a concerned look my way. For a minute, I felt my eyes tearing up as she reminded me of my mother.
Throwing a sceptical look between the woman and the driver, I took a gingerly step out of the car, and waited.
From a distance I saw my Mate talking to a group of men who looked like warriors; They looked like they were in a heated argument, but I didn’t miss the obvious fear in their eyes as they bowed slightly at him. Who was he?
“What’s this place?” I asked the woman, even though I already knew what it was. I knew it was a pack house but wasn’t sure of the pack that owned this place.
“This is the territory of the Dark Moon pack,” She answered with pride, lacing her tone of voice, the name sounded familiar. It was one of the few packs that my dad feared while he was alive.
He had always talked about their wealth, and the ruthlessness of their Alpha with respect.
“It’s beautiful!” I nearly screamed with a half smile on my face, “more beautiful than my pack!” At the mention of my pack, my face fell, drawing concerned looks from the driver and the middle aged woman beside me; I smiled again. A fake one this time.
“Follow me,” She said, tugging gently on my arm, “I was asked to drop you off at the slaves’ quarters.”
I threw another awed look at the vast expanse of wealth before me before I begrudgingly followed her. The pack house was beautiful. I watched in amusement as healthy children bounced up and down without a care in the world, even some mothers sat in groups, cheering at their children.
A group of young adults like me who were being taught how to combat in an open field caught my attention and held it…what if I learned how to fight too?
With my thoughts jumbled up inside my head, I continued following the woman until she stopped in front of a less pretty building, “we’re here” She said turning to face me; “this is our slaves’ quarters; find Mary when you settle in, she’ll put you through.” She said with a motherly smile, which never wavered from her face even for a millisecond,
“You’ll resume your duties at the palace by 8am tomorrow morning, and close by 6pm.”
“What’re my duties?” I asked confusedly.
“I don’t know, it’s all up to Alpha Antoine to decide” She replied with a dismissive shrug.
“Thank you ma'am, ” I said. Turning to walk away.
“You can call me Amanda, everyone calls me that,” she chirped in quickly, making me smile.
With the smile still plastered across my face, I bowed slightly, turned away from her, and made my way into the dark corridor leading into the slave quarters, and as soon as I was halfway into the corridor I froze.
She just said Alpha Antoine right?
And she also called my mate by the name ‘Antoine’ earlier too…
Was it what I thought?
Is my mate the Alpha of the feared Dark Moon pack?
With curiosity gnawing at my mind, I opened the large doors to meet four curious sets of eyes staring at me. I froze again…
Stacie's POV Four beautiful girls were standing in front of me, staring widely at me. Coherent speech seemed to have deserted them. I couldn't help but ask; " What are you looking at?" When I received no response, I wiped a hand over my chin. "Have I something on my face?" "What?" One of them cleared her throat. "So sorry, you just look too beautiful to be a slave. We weren't expecting a pretty face like yours." She said, smiling. Like you guys aren't so beautiful too. I said in my head. Though I grinned, I still felt a little uncomfortable as to the exaggeration of my beauty. I know I'm beautiful but I just don't get the "too beautiful" part. As if sensing my discomfort, she extended her hands. "I'm Nora" I shook her hand, a fake smile plastered on my face. "I'm Stacie" She continued, "You're welcome to our midst, This is Sandra, Shannon and Maggie, we are all roommates" The other girls greeted me one after the other, all with smiling faces. "Well you'll be staying in a se
Antoine's POV One moment I was trying to piss Stacie, my mate off, but the next, she was sitting right on my lap, whispering softly to my ear. Did she say handcuffs? As in she's referring to me having sex with her using handcuffs? Already? Is she already that eager to sleep with me? I just can't get this mating and bonding thing. I've heard that females take it very seriously and try to do anything in order to bond with their mates. Some even go to the lengths of raping their mates, according to what I heard. Miss Stacie sure isn't planning to do that right? Sincerely, I must confess that I'm still shocked. I had no idea that this little Miss Stacie would ever actually go to the lengths of seducing me. She looks so innocent and besides, she just got to my pack today. She hasn't even spent time adjusting to the environment or anything, but she's already trying to seduce me, the almighty alpha of the dark moon pack. She's got balls, I must say. Especially for someone that made
Stacie's pov. My plan to seduce the almighty alpha seems to be working out, as Antoine seemed to be enjoying every bit of my touch as much as I was. His hand squeezed my nipples and I shuddered in pleasure, spikes of desire shooting through my stomach and lower. As much as I had planned so well earlier to seduce him and then leave him hanging in sexual frustration, I don't think I can bear to do that anymore. This feeling I am getting is way sweeter than what I had imagined. I just wanted to have him deep inside me. I'm also very curious to know how it really feels like to be taken by your mate. The bonding, the mating, the connection, that was everything. I proceeded to take off his shirt which was hindering me from touching his skin. I touched his skin, and it felt so smooth. I could feel the play of his muscles under my fingers, and the heat emanating from his hot body. Then suddenly, he shouted; "Get out!" His voice sounded so cold like ever before. At first, I thought I mis
Stacie’s POV I broke out in cold sweat, trembling uncontrollably. How come I didn't even notice anyone creeping up behind me? I didn't even see his shadows. Could Beta Daniel have sent someone here to kill me? "How would he even know you're here" Elda spoke in my head. "You just have to fight back and save yourself." Right! I had to fight against this 'my' attacker. I tried to wriggle out of my attacker's firm grip and succeeded in freeing one of my hands. I quickly balled my hand into a fist, swirling around with difficulty to face him. But instead of my punch landing in his face, it landed in the air, as he seemed to have perceived it coming and had dodged it. Then before I knew it, he grabbed my fist in his palms, giving it a rough squeeze. "Ouch! That was painful" Pain shot up my arm like fire and I cringed. I was being sapped of every ounce of energy left in me. "Is this how difficult fighting is?" I wondered. This isn't even real combat, and I'm sure my attacker was bein
Antoine's POV The footsteps were coming close. I could hear the heavy thud of the person's boots as they approached the door. "Maybe one of the soldiers, I thought. Then all of a sudden, the footsteps stopped. There was total silence. I tried to smell the scent of the person who was at the door, as I had a sharp sense of smell. But surprisingly, I couldn't get the person's scent, not even a faint smell. It was as if the person didn't have a scent at all. Now, that's strange. Is it an alien or a human? I wondered. Stacie on the other hand felt the presence of the person behind the door. My scent was too familiar, stealing her breath away. It was someone she knew. Someone, she wasn't prepared to see right now. It was definitely----- wait did she just smell the scent? "Girl! Seems we're leveling up!" Ariel shouted excitedly in her head. Bang! Bang! Bang! The person knocked on the door with a kind of force that could only belong to one person. Then it dawned on me, The person at
Stacie's POV Oh my goodness! Daniel said he was going to lock the door, and then see if I'll be able to open it. The next thing that came running through my mind after he finished saying that was that 'What if he closes the door and I'm not able to open it? what would he do then? Would he think I'm a criminal or something? Or would he just kill me? Fear gripped me at the thought of that. Looking at Damien's face, he doesn't look like someone that would need to take permission from Antoine before killing someone he suspects to be a criminal. And by then, not even the formidable alpha would be able to save me. The funniest part is I can't even remember how exactly I got the door to open the other time. I know it was about the energy that is emitted from my body, but the problem is how did I manage to release the energy, or better still, what did I do to release it? I racked my brain but still couldn't come up with anything. Damien dragged the chains up, from the floor in order t
Stacie's POV Damien swung his fist at me, targeting my jaw. "Rule number one, always be alert and ready for an attack" Unprepared, I recoiled from his punch to my jaw with a wince. How could he be so swift and fast that I hadn't even noticed his movement? I thought, momentarily copying his style as I made a move to retaliate. I lurched a step forward and then threw a punch at Damien's face. The blow felt too dull. And I knew it immediately after I had launched it. "Too slow" Damien noted as he ducked under my punch. He grabbed my arm and twisted it. "Rule number two, never underestimate or look down on your opponent. They could strike when you least expect it" I struggled, squeezed, and wriggled free from his grip. I punched again. He ducked. I kicked. He blocked my kick with one hand and threw a fist at me with the other hand. I bent backward, making Damien's fist slap into my shoulders. Wincing in pain, I staggered backward and fell to the ground with a loud thud. "That
Stacie's POV I felt a very sharp pain in my chest and I cringed. The pain exploded in my head with blinding whiteness. It made me dizzy. It made me reel. It was like needles that had been dipped in alcohol had been jabbed through my chest like my heart had been replaced with ice and electricity wired straight into my spine. I felt a spasm of sharp pain in my lower body. Every part of my body started aching. I couldn't take it anymore. I fell to the ground, gritted my teeth, and then bit into my lips to stop myself from losing consciousness. I tasted blood on my lips. It was painful, though nothing compared to the ache all over my body. It was as if the bones in my leg seemed to snap and shift from their position. The worst part was that I couldn't do anything. I couldn't even move. I just sat down on the floor, enduring all the pain. "What was happening to me" I wondered, trying to communicate with my wolf to know whether she had any idea of what was going on in my body system.
