Carson's POV Antoine shouted to us to take cover, and almost immediately the demon wolves started spitting fire at us. We can't change to our wolf form, as the fire would burn our fur, through to our skin. But then again, being in human form isn't that effective, since we wouldn't be as strong as being in wolf form. I took cover behind a tree, resting my back on the tree so that the demon wolves wouldn't be able to get to me. The rest of the pack warriors also maintained the same position, hiding behind different trees. The demon wolves were approaching us, fire burning from their eyes and nostrils, but there wasn't anything we could do. I racked my brain about what we could do to defeat them, but I couldn't get any idea. If only I had brought ammunition or any other weapon apart from only knives. But then, I wasn't expecting the battle to be this fierce. Although I've heard stories about these demon wolves, about how they had black powers, how they could set people on fire with th
Stacie's POV At first, I thought it was Antoine, and I was already planning to start running away. "Stacie" the voice called out softly again. And this time around, I was sure it wasn't Antoine. I turned to look back, only to see the door staring right at my face. Right! I had shut the door before I heard the voice, so who could have called? "Stacie!" The voice called yet again, sounding louder. I looked around but didn't see anyone. Was I dreaming? Or was my mind playing a trick on me? I shrugged my shoulders. I must have misheard. Maybe I'm just stressed out from working too much. "No, you didn't mishear. I'm right here, but you can't see me with your naked eyes" "Who the hell are you?" I shouted. "Ssshhhh," it said. "You would attract other people's attention" "So what do you want from me?" I asked, trying to sound as calm as I could. "You need to find out who you really are" the voice whispered so close to my ear, and I shivered. Then I felt a swoosh of air as if someone
Stacie's POV I reached her and hugged her tightly. I held a handful of her hair and inhaled the scent. The smell----- It wasn't Laurel's smell. It didn't smell like her. I heard a scoff against my neck, and I immediately removed my arms from her sides and looked at her face. However, it wasn't Laurel, it was Maggie. That crazy lesbian bitch! It must have been how stressed I was that had gotten to my mind, to the extent of even blurring my vision and making me confuse her for Laurel. Or perhaps, it was because I've been thinking about laurel so much, these days. "You crazy bitch!" I shouted, giving her a hard push by the chest, that sent her staggering backward. She had an annoying smirk on her face. She was mocking me. "What did you put inside the drink the other day? Why did you even leave it on my table? Why did you try to poison me? What did you even do to me." I had so many questions for her, which she must answer. I've been thinking a lot about it lately, just that my chores
Carson's POV Right after the battle with the demon wolves, I couldn't get my mind off the beautiful lady that had saved me. Her face kept popping into my head, causing a lot of distraction for me. I tried so hard to focus my mind on reading the magazine that I was holding. I was trying hard to concentrate, but it wasn't working. I kept thinking back to the way the mysterious lady had saved my life, how bold and fearless she had looked. I knew I had felt something different in my entire body, immediately I had set my eyes on her. Something like a connection. I wished I could see her again. In fact, I wanted to see her again right here and now. I wanted to look into those beautiful and mesmerizing red eyes. But the greater reason why I wanted to see her was to ask her some questions, like why she had saved me the other day, and who she really is. I'm pretty sure that she wasn't an ordinary werewolf. She had had fire flaming from her mouth and nostrils, which makes me think she might
Antoine's POV I was running down deep into the woods, and a figure was coming behind me, chasing me in hot pursuit. I was fast, but he was faster. I looked back to check his face, and then I saw it was Lucifer, the leader of the demon wolves pack. "Why was he chasing me?" I wondered. He had a murderous look on his face, and he was holding a sword that had a shiny blade which suggested it would be very sharp. He was pointing it aggressively in front of him. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, but he was a good runner as if he had been specially trained to chase after people all his life. He was soon going to catch up with me, so I doubled my speed and he soon noticed and kind of tripled his own speed and he soon caught up with me, hitting my head violently with the handle of his sword. I felt a sharp pain course through my head, and I immediately stopped running, grasping my head with both of my hands and yelping in pain. He pushed me hard and I staggered forward, barely manag
Antoine’s POV "Shit!" I cursed inwardly. I don't like to feel this way. But why do I feel like I had just been caught in an act of doing something stupid? He came and stood beside me, grinning from ear to ear. God knows what's going on in his head. "You still haven't answered my question," he said. I had no interest in this kind of conversation, but it seemed like he knew about something. Could it be about the fact that Stacie was my mate? I hadn't told anyone, not even Damien. I didn't want to discourage them from finding their own mates. But I reckoned that Damien might still find out later. But not this soon. So I decided to brazen it out and force him to spill out what he knew. If he knew anything at all. "What makes you think I do?" I asked him. "Isn't it so obvious? You find her attractive, that was why you personally went to buy her and even sent me to drive her here. Plus you also made her your attending maid." "I've been wanting to ask you since. But I've been waiting
Antoine POV Stacie pressed the knife against my neck, and it cut slightly through my skin. I could feel the pain, but the funniest part of it was that I couldn't get my mind to think properly or even react. The impact of her soft breast pressing against my hard back was clouding my brain and overriding my senses. I opened my mouth to say something but then she pressed her breast further into my back and I closed my mouth back, swallowing hard in my throat. It was so confusing and it felt so hard, trying to utter a word. I didn't like the way I was feeling but I couldn't help it. Maybe being away from women, sex, and everything, all this time is taking hold of my body. Because, the last time I remembered, I used to have control over little things like this, over a little sexual desire, over a pesky libido. Even when most of the slaves had packed themselves to my chambers, naked and wet for me, I hadn't even touched them at all. Even with the fact that I had been drunk and everything,
Antoine's POV "A quick learner," I thought. Her movements were now much better than they had been some time ago, and I couldn't help but admire her once again. She came at my legs, now crouching down and circling around my legs, holding them, as if to forcefully pull me down. She would have done it successfully if she had been a little faster and more calculative. "Too slow," I told her, bending down slightly, and yanking her roughly with one hand from behind me, bringing her to the front. She gulped, staring up right at my face, fear evident in her eyes. It took all the self-control in me not to burst out laughing. I just so much enjoy seeing the look of fear in her eyes. She always looked cute the most then. And more beautiful too. I bent down to her level, having a menacing look on my face. I grabbed her chin roughly and lifted up her head slightly, causing her to shudder involuntarily, but she had already changed her facial expression. She was now staring hard, back at me, as i
