She's dead

**Alexander’s POV**

I couldn’t reach Emily or find leads to where she could be.

Our mind link was as good as dead, and no matter how many times I yelled her name and tried to reach her, there was no response.

I felt frustrated and angry that I couldn’t find her, and it was quickly becoming late. It was even more alarming because no one could provide leads to where she was or even reasonable information regarding her kidnapping.

And Mary, who could have helped since she was her guardian, as well, was dead.

Momentarily, it occurred to me that she was killed specifically because of this. Mary was killed because of Emily, just to make sure she was unable to rescue Emily in cases like this.

I held my head with my hands, feeling the fear surging through my body. I hope Emily was fine. I didn't know what I'd do if anything happened to her.
