I knew that my brother had everything to do with Amber crying and being wet. He did not like our little human mate as well. Her being weak, even made the situation worse. I was disappointed when I found out that she was my mate when I saw her in that room and asking her to run was just a piece of advice, but she stayed.

There was a confused look on her face when she stared at me after my words. And her huge green emerald eyes were filled with so much confusion. Her eyes were pretty. I liked them. She was pretty, just a little too small and she was always looking lost.

“You should eat.” Even after fainting, her stomach kept grumbling. The girls had not been fed and they were not going to get anything to eat until it was time for dinner. I did not want Amber dead yet, and that was why I was feeding her. And her getting kindness from me was one of the perks of being my mate and because I needed her to do something for me.

“You are not supposed to be out of your room for such a long time and you should eat. There will be no food until midnight. Will you be able to stay until then?” Her huge eyes widened when more and she slowly nodded her head.

A small smile grazed my lips as I pushed the food trolley towards the edge of the bed. The moment Amber sat by the edge, she began to eat hungrily. She looked famished and just kept stuffing her mouth with food. Not giving a care in the world if a man was standing right in front of her. She was different.

Most of the girls would eat so slowly, while tilting their heads and smiling at me if they were ever given this kind of chance. But Amber had almost devoured all the food. How did she still look so small if she ate that much?

“Slow down, I'm not rushing you.” I offered as she could actually choke due to how fast she was eating. Amber slowly paused and then blinked her eyes as she bit down on her lower lip. She only nodded her head and then continued eating, but she did not go slow. She was still eating a little fast.

I noticed the tiny freckles that were scattered on her face, towards the area of the bridge of her nose and I liked how they looked on her. Amber literally finished all the food and when she was done, she kept looking around nervously, like she was mustering up the courage to thank me and she actually did after a while.

“Who owns the dress you are wearing?” She mentioned that Kael burnt her clothes and I actually went to confirm that. He did. What she did was against the rules, so she broke the rules and what Kael did was simply punishing her. It was also because of the anger that he bore towards her.

“My friends.”

Kael held on to anger.. I did not. I went straight for the kill if angered. “Do you feel better now?” She nodded and then she stood up as she attempted to roll out the trolley from the room.

“I will return the plates and come back.”

I stopped her. “That is not your job to do. And you don't even know your way around. You will not be able to find the kitchen.”

“I will get you a new set of clothes.” Her eyes lit up. “But on one condition.” I was quick to add and then she blinked.

“Don’t worry, it’s a very simple task. And you are the best person fit for the task.” I brought out a key from my pocket and I handed it over to Amber who cautiously collected the key from me.

“Keep it safe until I ask for it.” I slowly said and her eyes narrowed and there was nothing but confusion in her eyes. She must have probably been expecting me to ask her to do a very big and complicated task, but all I needed from her was to keep the key.

“This?” She slowly looked at the key and I nodded.

“Nobody should know that you have it. Not even my brother.” He was the main reason why I was hiding it. And he would never guess that I would give it to Amber. While searching for it, she would be the last person who would come to his mind.

“But—”

“No buts. You already ate my food and slept on my bed. You will do what I say. Take it to your room and keep it until I ask for it.” My brother and I barely had any misunderstandings, but that key was already brewing one misunderstanding between us as we had refused to agree on something. He wanted something, I did not and luckily I had the key.

“Oh….okay.” Amber drew out and then she tightened her fists around the key.

“That is all I want from you and I will assume that you feel better. Return to your room.” She was quick to stand up to her feet and then I took that opportunity to take a good look at her, sizing her up with my eyes. She was too small for an 18-year-old. Too innocent to be in the selection or even be our mate.

I kept on staring at her from head to toe and it was only because I was trying to figure out the size of clothes that would actually fit her. “Is it only clothes you want?” She shook her head.

“What else?”

“B…b….b..” She began to stutter.

“Bras?” I completed the words and she was quick to nod. My eyes narrowed. Did she really need those? “What else?”

“U….un..” Her cheeks flushed.

“Underwear.” She nodded again and I suddenly closed the space between us. She was looking at me in shock and looked like she would suddenly run away when I slowly palmed her ass from behind.

Her whole body went still, but no emotion crossed my face as my palms moved to her tiny waist. Her breathing was heavy as I slowly moved my hand on her waist. “Just confirming your size of underwear.” I finally took a step back and then I nodded towards the door.

“Leave.” She swallowed and then muttered thanks before hurrying out of my room.
