I knew he would be on the other end staring at the bubbles appearing and disappearing as I tried to think of what to send to him.

Should I tell him that I was waiting to see him or should I tell him that it didn't really matter to me and he could be back whenever he wanted to, which was a lie.

Finally, after thinking hard, I sent back something simple, “Well, I expected so, exams are getting closer and you need to graduate"

I tried to sound as nonchalant as I could, without showing him that I was excited for him to be back and was eagerly waiting to see him.

I waited for a while for him to read it and reply but there wasn't anything. It only showed delivered after that and not seen.

Which could mean he was either busy right now or just gone to bed, who knew? It wouldn't be surprising if this had only been a prank.

I decided to quit hoping, taking my phone to plug and charge while I read. It was surprising that Luca hadn't texted to disturb me but I was grateful for it.
