When the hunter falls for the monster, blood isn't the only thing that gets spilled. Damon's life has always been simple—track, kill, repeat. As a ruthless vampire hunter, he's known for his cold precision and his refusal to let emotions cloud his judgment. But everything changes the night he crosses paths with Luciano, a seductive vampire prince with centuries of secrets and a voice that sounds like sin. Luciano should be Damon’s enemy. Instead, he's a temptation wrapped in shadows dangerous, alluring, and far too familiar. Bound by a history neither of them fully understands and a fate that refuses to let them go, the two men are forced into a deadly game of betrayal, loyalty, and longing. But in a world where war brews between light and dark, and the past refuses to stay buried, can a hunter truly love the thing he was born to destroy? Or will Damon and Luciano’s love story end in the same blood-soaked tragedy that birthed it?

“Turns out you’re not so tough without your teammates, are you?” The voice was laced with mockery, each word dripping like poison as my hands pressed against the grimy wall, blood smearing across it as I struggled to keep my balance.
All I wished for right now was to disintegrate into the wall as regret hit me. I should’ve said no to this mission. Hell, I should’ve been curled up in my room right now, binge-watching some gay p**n movie and giving in to simpler urges while masturbating.
Instead, I was here—broken, bleeding, and staring death in the face.
“Hunter, I’m talking to you.”
The punch came hard and fast, snapping my head to the side. Pain bloomed like fireworks behind my eyes, and the sharp, metallic tang of blood filled my mouth. My jaw clenched, swallowing the groan that tried to escape.
“I don’t know what you want me to say,” I spat, tasting my defiance mingled with the blood on my tongue as I glared at them.
A slap followed—sharp, humiliating, and blinding. Stars exploded in my vision, but by now, my body was too numb to feel
Fucking vampires.
I hated them. Hated this life. Hated the expectations weighing me down like chains. I wasn’t ready for this mission, wasn’t ready to face these monsters. But my family didn’t care. They sent me anyway, because that’s what hunters did. Sacrifice. Die young.
“Well, looks like you still have a spine.” They chuckled at their stupid ass joke and I looked sideways catching sight of my saber.
Only if I could get to it, then perhaps I would have been able to defend myself. Can you imagine a vampire hunter that had only perfected saber training coming out for a field mission?
My wrists were bound so tightly I could feel the rope biting into my skin, cutting off my blood circulation. They looked hungry as their fangs popped out just by the sight of my blood.
They dragged me outside the club, the stink of garbage and rot mixing with the coppery scent of my own blood. I screamed for help, but the night swallowed my cries. No one was coming.
I was going to be drained of my blood but vampires and join my ancestors.
“Let him go.” The voice was calm but commanding, like the low growl of a predator.
My head snapped up, and my stomach sank as my eyes locked onto the one face I never wanted to see again.
Lucian Salvatore.
The vampire holding me sneered, his grip tightening as he turned to face my very own worst nightmare.
“Why the hell would I do that, Salvatore?”
I grimaced, frustration coiling in my chest like a viper ready to strike. Of all the creatures in the world, why did it have to be him?
“You know my name, that means you're not a new born or recruit. You will let him go because I say so.” Salvatore’s voice was a low growl, laced with command and firmness.
Before his words could fully register, he bolted like a flash of lightening and slammed into the other vampire, driving him into the brick wall with a sickening crunch and a loud thud.
The others scattered like rats, disappearing as they scurried away for their life.
Their fear of him was understandable, he was one of the Originals, the first vampires, and for a moment, I saw a glimpse of hope.
This was my chance. My hands worked frantically at the ropes binding me, the coarse fibers cutting into my skin, but adrenaline fueled me. As soon as I was free, I bolted.
I didn’t get far before I collided with something solid hard and cold, like a brick wall. No, not a wall. Him.
Luciano Salvatore.
He stood there, utterly calm, his eyes glinting with amusement as he blocked my escape.
“Running off without saying hello to your ex-boyfriend? And your savior?” His smile was sharp, almost cruel, his fangs catching the faint light glinting with crimson and I shut my eyes while shaking my head as I tried not to determine the fate of the vampire he had stormed off with.
But it was obvious, Salvatore had killed him.
My breath hitched.
“Thank you,” I muttered, my voice barely audible. He wasn’t going to kill me—that much I was sure of. But his presence alone sent a chill down my spine.
“Just that?” he mocked, taking a deliberate step closer. His towering frame seemed to blot out the rest of the world.
Luciano Salvatore. My ex-boyfriend. My mistake. The vampire who had shattered my world when I found out what he truly was—the very creature my family hunted.
We had ended things, but he still haunted me. Every night, in my dreams, his face returned. Worse, those dreams always ended the same way: tangled sheets, whispered promises, and his touch on my skin. It was tormenting, and moving on felt impossible.
How could I move on when each time I closed my eyes to sleep, we had sex in my dreams every night? It was like a fantasy I was holding on to.
“Thanks for tonight.” I said again, trying to sound firm as I walked away. I couldn’t let him see how rattled I was.
He chuckled darkly, his gaze dragging over me like a predator sizing up prey.
“Your training will be over soon,” he murmured, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down my spine. “And then... we’ll finally get to play our little game of cat and mouse.”
I froze, dread curling in my stomach like a serpent. His words were heavy with unspoken promises, none of which boded well for me.
“What do you mean by that?” I demanded, forcing myself to turn back to him. But he was gone.
The air where he’d stood was empty, save for the faintest whisper of his voice carried on the wind:
“You’ll find out soon enough, little hunter.”
LucianoThere on his bed, my father lay, blood all over the sheets and his body torn into half. He was dead, no, he had been killed. I stared at the scene in front of me, blank at first. I couldn't believe, I didn't want to. My father was a mighty warrior. He had fought so many on his own, brought kingdoms to their knees with just his commands. He couldn't be dead. In the distance, I could hear the cries from my men as they found him just like I had and it angered me. Gone was the blankness, the only thing that remained was rage, simmering and boiling. I wanted to tear everybody who had done this apart. I turned to the men and asked:, “How did this happen?" My voice was calm and they knew I was beyond reason. They didn't answer me, their eyes didn't meet mine. Right under their noses someone had snuck inside this house, this fortress of ours and taken my dad's life. The anger in me rose beyond measure, all I could see was red and then a high scream from in front of me. I had tor
DamonThere was darkness around me when I opened my eyes again. He hadn't let me out in all the time I had been here and somehow I had managed to fall asleep. I felt the panic rise in my chest as I looked around me. I wasn't sure where the door was but I couldn't stand it here anymore. I had to plead to him, maybe he would let me out then. I managed to walk my way through the empty room, hitting a wall before I realized I was close to the door. I began feeling the wall to find my way to the door and finally my hand felt the hard wood. I touched it to make sure I had felt right. It was the door so I banged against it repeatedly. “Let me out" I screamed, hitting the door. There was no reply at first but it didn't stop me from continuing. I hit against the door, somehow he would hear me and would get me out of here. I felt a sudden headache and fatigue that hadn't been there before. I had to rest against the door, my voice reducing due to how tired I felt. “Luciano" I heard it befo
LucianoI found his car almost immediately. Unlike in the other camera where I couldn't see anything else except its shadow and the silver glint, his plate number was visible to me now. I grinned largely at the camera. This way I would be able to send out information on all roads leading out of here and their cameras could be checked to see where he went. When I was done noting it down, I turned to the man in the room with me, clapping my hands on his back. I told him to continue with what he was doing and forget this had even happened. Then, I went back to my car and back to the house. Lucien was waiting outside for me. I opened the doors and he came in. “Did you clear all of it?" I asked him. He nodded his head, “Yes sir. It's all done, no clue that he was even there" I nodded, “I found his plate number. We can trace him with that. I'm sending it over to you, send it to all our guys. I want his location in thirty minutes” I instructed him. I sent the message to him and we wen
Luciano It had been two hours since he had contacted me. I hadn't heard or received any messages from him and I could feel my nervousness increase along with my anger. How dare he think he can just take Damon and go free? I turned to Lucien, Tristan hadn't come back from his side of the plan and I had sent a text for him to come. “There's no way to track where he went to? And how about Alaric? I put him on Damon!" I shouted, I had totally forgotten about it. I picked my phone up and typed in his number, calling him but it went straight to voicemail. I tried it again and this time it rang but he didn't pick it up. There was no choice,I had to go see for myself. “Let's go towards his house, he could be there" I said to Lucien who took me to the car and we drove off. Inside, I couldn't help but worry about Damon. He could be doing anything to Damon and I wouldn't know what it was. What did he even want from me? I decided to try it the classic way, sending him a text, “What do you
DamonIt felt like the world had stopped still when he was done talking. I couldn't move, standing frozen and staring at him. Maybe I hadn't heard right. He shook his head smiling, “You definitely heard right. I just needed to take that off the table before we continued" he finished. He went to the shelf and picked out two books, coming towards me again with them. “You need to sit and read this. I'm not sure you'll understand it all well enough without sitting” he led me towards the chair in the room. I followed behind him, unable to say anything else. So much was happening and somehow I was lost in all of it. I could have asked him what was happening at that moment. I had somehow found myself with the enemy. This time I hadn't fallen into just any vampire's trap, no, I had chosen one of Luciano's enemies to fall into. As I sat down on the chair, I looked at Rhys, unable to believe that he had faked so much for all that time. The dance we had shared at the club, including the lu
DamonLuca and I had finished playing our games and had decided to go to bed when my phone rang again. A text from Rhys. “Come on, answer that" Luca said as he went into the bathroom. Grudgingly, I picked up my phone and read his texts. “Let me make it up to you" I sent back a text, “How do you plan on doing so?" I asked and put it aside while changing into our boys night pyjamas. He replied pretty quickly because my phone pinged almost immediately. “If you come see me in ten minutes, I'll show you how" and a smiley emoji. I rolled my eyes at his confidence, it was something I liked but right now it was annoying. “It's past midnight and do you even know where I am?" I sent back. His text came in quickly “I don't care where you are, I'll come get you and the time doesn't change anything" he was pretty confident and now it was hot. Finally, I caved in. It wasn't as if he was going to kidnap me or anything. I would simply tell Luca I was going to see a friend and I would be back so
