"I need to be somewhere. I'll come home later," I said to Claire when she came to my office so we could go home together after work.

"Are you going to stay long there? You know I would be alone at home if you did," She pouted her lips and whined, and I rolled my eyes.

"I won't be long before I come home," I replied to her.

"You need to promise me that you won't. You told me you were not going to stay long the other day, and you ended up spending hours there," She blinked her eyes cutely at me, and I smiled at her. This girl was supposed to be a high schooler or a college student. Why did her Mom ask her to look after this place? She was childish, but trust me, I loved that about her. I never had a chance to be like this with my sibling since we grew up apart, and having her around made me feel like I was recollecting my childhood with my sibling.

"I'll be back early this time," I assured her.

"I promise," I further said, and she smiled at me.
