Jessica's POV

I stared at Rebecca, and then at my fingers.

It had happened again. Claws had grown out of my fingertips, and I had used them to dig deep into Rebecca's flesh.

She stared at me in shock as she took her arm away from her neck and stared at the blood on it.

"I didn't mean to, Rebecca; I'm not sure what happened," I muttered as I took a few steps backward.

Rebecca stood up, her eyes pupils shaking in disbelief and anger.

"That's it, Jessica," She muttered before screaming the word, "I'm going to kill you!"

She bolted towards me, taking hold of my neck. She raised me as her grip tightened.

"Rebecca... Please... Stop," I said, my voice a little above a whisper as she strangled me.

But she didn't listen—she didn't stop.

That was when it hit me. A sweet smell that sent shivers down my spine. My eyes flew to the crimson juice trailing the corners of her neck, down to her chest.

It intrigued me, like a painting on a canvas, calling out to me.

That usual sensation overwhelmed

Michael's POVA thousand thoughts tore through my mind in just a second like a violent storm. I bolted through the hallways, my heart pounding harder. The kitchen was empty, same goes for the basement. Then I headed for my room. Why hadn’t I gone there first?I guess, deep down, I feared the worst. I thought she would hate me so much she wouldn’t want to be anywhere near me.I wasn't sure what and how much she had heard. Had she heard everything? Had she heard that my father tried to kill her? Or worse—had she heard that I was planning to kill her father? The thought of it felt like a blade twisting in my chest.I was about to round a corner when a blur of fur shot past me—a brown wolf, one of my packmates, flung across the hall like a rag doll. His body slammed into the stone wall with a sickening crack.A low snarl vibrated in my chest, but before I could move, a scream echoed through the Pack House. The scream ripped through the air— high-pitched, laced with terror, sending a

Michael's POV I followed Ethan through a few hallways and towards Raymond's office. He knocked on the door and waited for a signal before walking in. Raymond had his arms resting on his table as he leaned forward. Suddenly, his head snapped towards me, and then he frowned. "I guess you and Jessica have been engaging in some...mate bonding stuff," He muttered as he looked away, focusing his gaze back on whatever he was looking at. "Yeah. At least we were until your dog came and interrupted us," I said. Ethan let out a low growl and Mason growled back, pissed. I felt his wolf cowering in fear at the sight of an Alpha wolf. I couldn't help but smirk. "Leave us, Ethan," Raymond muttered without looking towards our direction. He was hesitant at first, before giving a slight nod and walking out of the office. I let out a sigh as I walked towards a drawer by the corner. I pulled out a bottle of vodka and poured it into a glass. I took the drink and headed for the couch in th

Michael's POV I let out a sigh as the cold water beat on my skin, calming down my nerves. When I was done, I dried myself, put on some comfortable clothes, and just lay on the bed.It took a lot from me to stay close to Jessica and not be able to do anything.Raymond killing Rose really did a number on her. She was suffering on her own and I wish I could be there to help her out.And Elaina—that woman scared the shit out of me.I had asked her to help me talk to Jessica, just to help her with the hurt she was going through. Instead, she ran her hand into my mate's guts—talk about creepy. But it made me happy because, at that moment, I felt Jessica's pain. I felt all the punches and the kicks she took.It was a reminder that our bond was still there, no matter what was happening.Just then, I heard a knock on the door."Come in!" I yelled out. I thought it would be one of my brothers or Alpha Logan. But to my surprise, it was Jessica.I straightened up, getting down from the bed.Sh

Jessica's POVI crouched over, hands on my knees as I panted, gasping for breath. Beads of sweat had broken all over my body.Elaina stood a few feet away, not a single bead of sweat on her face. She had thrown a few more punches and some kicks at me—so fast I couldn't evade any.She was strong—so strong it was almost inhuman—and I was getting my butt kicked.“Here,” she said, tossing me a bottle of water.I barely managed to catch it, my fingers fumbling around the cold plastic. “Thanks,” I muttered before twisting off the cap and downing the contents in a single gulp.Elaina sat down on the ground, patting the spot beside her. Her expression wasn’t stern like it had been during training, it was calm now, almost thoughtful.I hesitated for a moment before lowering myself beside her, wincing at the sharp ache in my ribs.Silence hung between us, the only sounds coming from the distant clashing claws and paws.“It must have been tough,” Elaina finally said, breaking the quiet. “Losi

Jessica's POVThe sound of Rose's body hitting the floor echoed through the kitchen—louder than it should have like the universe itself wanted me to hear it again and again.I couldn’t move.My legs felt rooted to the blood-slicked tiles, my heart thundering in my chest as the pool of crimson spread, inch by inch, creeping towards my feet.Rose’s lifeless eyes stared at the ceiling— empty and glassy, like all the light that once made her who she was had been ripped away, gone—forever.“Why?” I whispered, the word tasting bitter on my tongue. No one answered.Alpha Raymond stood there, his claws still dripping with her blood, his face cold like he didn't care or feel anything. The man who called himself my father, the man who was supposed to protect me had just taken away the only person who ever tried to protect me.Michael stepped closer, his hand brushing against mine—gentle and reassuring, but I pulled away."No," I muttered again, more to myself than anyone else. Then I snapped.“

Jessica's POVBeatrice's lifeless body lay against me, her dead weight pulling at my shoulder. The black liquid that seeped from her mouth had stained my dress. But I didn’t move, didn’t even flinch.I couldn’t stop staring at Luna Annie. How could she kill someone who cared so much about her? From what I'd heard, Beatrice and Annie were once inseparable—best friends.Beatrice had given up living with her mate just to follow Annie to the Redwood Pack, vowing to stand by her side forever. So why? What could drive her to let her friend die? And, didn't she feel anything? That was when I saw it.The tear that threatened to slip from Annie’s eyes. She blinked it away too quickly, her face smooth and emotionless once more—but I had seen it. I was sure of that. She was pretending to be calm.Pretending not to care. Was she afraid everyone would believe she’d ordered my poisoning? Was that why she was acting so cold, so unaffected just so she could shield herself from suspicion? But somethin
