Hazel's Point of View

I sit at my desk, my elbows resting on either side of my laptop, fingers curled tightly around the warmth of my second cappuccino of the day. My eyes scan the screen in front of me, squinting slightly at the wall of conflicting information. I type "Lycan origin myths + werewolf distinction" into the search bar and hit enter. Dozens of articles pop up, each contradicting the last, some claiming Lycans are just another term for werewolves, others saying they’re older, stronger, nearly immortal. Some threads spiral into folklore and conspiracy theories. Others sound like the beginning of horror novels.

I drag a hand down my face with a quiet sigh. It’s like trying to find truth in fog.

I click on another link. More confusion. A forum of self proclaimed “paranormal experts” debating everything from moonstones to blood rituals to royal bloodlines. My eyes skim paragraph after paragraph but none of it helps. If anything, the internet is only adding to the unease curlin

  • Bound By Magic And Moonlight   Chapter 34

Drake's Point of ViewThe late afternoon sun casts long shadows through the blinds of my office window, painting faint golden lines across my desk. But I barely notice them. My mind is elsewhere, racing, restless. It’s been a week since Aiden took off. A full seven days of silence. Seven days of unanswered calls, unread texts, and this heavy, gnawing guilt I can’t seem to shake off.I stare at my phone on the desk like it might change its mind and ring back. My thumb hesitates over his name one more time. Before I hit call again. It rings.Once.Twice.Again and again. No answer. The usual.I exhale hard through my nose and drop the phone onto the desk with a frustrated thud, raking a hand through my hair. The silence in the room feels louder than ever. My thoughts are a tangle of what ifs and should haves, looping in circles with no clear end.A knock at the door pulls me out of it.“Come in,” I call, straightening up in my chair just a little.Nicole and Abby walk in. Abby’s express

Aiden's Point of ViewThe first thing I feel when I wake up is the heavy weight in my chest, not from sleep, but from everything else. The room is quiet, dim, the curtains barely holding back the morning light. I open my eyes slowly, staring up at the unfamiliar ceiling of the hotel room. The other side of the bed is empty. Of course it is. She's gone. Just another nameless face I let close for a few hours last night, hoping she’d blur out the ache clawing at my insides.I drag a hand down my face and sit up, the sheets tangled around my waist, the room still smelling faintly of perfume and bourbon. I should feel something, guilt, shame, anything, but mostly I feel numb. And exhausted. Not physically. I’m used to that. It’s the pretending that’s draining me. Pretending to be the strong one, the reliable one. The perfect Beta.A humorless laugh escapes me as I stare at the dead phone on the nightstand. No missed calls, no messages. Not that I expected any. With a frustrated sigh, I swi

  • Bound By Magic And Moonlight   Chapter 31

Hazel's Point of ViewI jolt upright in bed as the shrill sound of my alarm slices through the heavy fog in my mind. My hand slams down on it instinctively, silencing the noise. For a moment, I just sit there, staring blankly ahead. My eyes feel gritty, dry, and raw. It feels like I barely slept, and that’s because I didn’t.The memories from last night creep in slowly, like mist curling under a door. I spent hours hunched over my desk, flipping through every single grimoire I own... nothing. Not a single useful passage on Lycans. So I turned to the internet, thinking maybe modern witches, or even conspiracy theorists, might’ve uncovered something useful.Instead, I found contradictions, wild stories, and rabbit holes that led nowhere. All that effort, and I’m no closer to understanding what Serina saw, or what I saw that night in the cave.I let out a sigh that feels like it’s pulled from my bones. I push back the covers and swing my legs over the edge of the bed. My body aches, more

Nicole's Point of ViewI begin to stir, stretching slightly beneath the covers, only to find the bed beside me cold and empty. My hand slides across the sheets instinctively, but Drake isn’t there. A quiet sigh escapes my lips as I sit up straighter, rubbing the sleep from my eyes and looking around the room.My gaze lands on him almost immediately, he’s sitting alone in the armchair by the window, his broad shoulders hunched slightly, lost in thought. The soft gray morning light filters in through the curtains, painting him in muted tones. He looks both present and far away, and my chest tightens with concern.Without saying a word, I get out of bed, moving towards him. I lower myself onto his lap, curling my legs over one armrest, leaning my back against the other. His arms instantly wrap around me, and he presses a gentle kiss to my cheek.“Good morning, beautiful,” he murmurs, his voice low and affectionate.I offer him a small, sleepy smile. “Good morning,” I reply softly. “Is ev

Hazel's Point of ViewThe hum of the bus engine and the steady rhythm of tires on asphalt blends with the chatter of my students, their voices light and filled with excitement. I sit near the front, the afternoon sun casting golden light through the windows, warming my arm where it rests on the edge of my seat. Valerie is beside me, flipping through photos she took on her phone of the students outside the cave, mostly selfies if I had to guess. My gaze drifts out the window, watching the trees blur past, thinking back to that cave and the creature Serina found etched in stone, the red eyes still vivid in my mind. There was power in that cave. Old, buried, whispering through the cracks in the rock. The moment I stepped inside, I felt it. And Serina’s sketch only confirmed it. That figure wasn’t random. It meant something. It remembers something.Valerie nudges me with her elbow, pulling me from the spiral of thoughts. “What’s on your mind?” she asks, voice casual but laced with curiosi
