Zander smiles at her as she walks in, his expression changing to apologetic when he sees the tears that threaten to spill from her eyes.
“I’m sorry, Willow, what happened?”
Glancing around she doesn’t see anyone, so she sits down, Zander sitting next to her.
“I tried getting him to admit the truth about Yasmine and the baby. He explained, and by the end he walked out and said he would see me around. I think the fact I struggled to find something to say made him think I saw him in a bad way, but I just didn’t want to say something without thinking and end up upsetting him.”
Zander nods. “He may just need time. He likes you, Willow; this is my fault, I should never have said it.”
“It isn’t your fault, I pushed and pushed and sounded disgusted. The fact he seems so sure he doesn’t want to stop shifting and have a family scares me. I want kids, he clearly doesn’t, and how wou
The days quickly turn to weeks, which then turn to months. Alaric watches as Willow becomes stronger, her magic becoming part of her. Every day he watches in awe as she seems to master more and more of her magic, writing it down faithfully in her grimoire. Things settle down, the local werewolves and witches meet and talk about what Alaric had discussed with Willow and Zander. They know that soon, they will need to have that meeting; the meeting which could either get them all killed or save them all. They just need something, just one little thing, to show the vampires that it’s worth it and it will work.Alaric smiles at Willow as she sits with Azalea. He catches Willow’s eye and winks.“I’m kind of bored over here, would be great to have some way to keep myself entertained.” He slouches back in the chair, Azalea turning and looking towards him with a devious smile.“Alaric,”
Alaric looks at Willow; he had no time to run, no time to even move, he was momentarily immobilised due to the shock of how quickly the emotions came flooding back. He watches her as she walks towards him, her hand stroking along his head when she reaches the mass of fur.Alaric finds his head tipping to the side, slightly enjoying the feel. This is something he hasn’t had before. Other than curling around her when she passed out on the field that night he hasn’t ever felt a human’s touch in this form. It’s… different. Willow kneels before him, her arms wrapping around him in a tight embrace, a low whine escaping his throat as his body relaxes against her touch. The thought of how close he was to hurting Azalea flutters into his mind, but vanishes quickly as he feels himself calming down and his breathing settles. His eyes are closed as he feels the warmth of Willow’s arms around him.“I love you, Alaric,” she murmurs in
She walks out, Azalea already waiting for her outside her bedroom, smiling at her a little too much.“What’s going on?”“No idea! Alaric messaged me like 10 minutes ago telling me a car was coming and where we were going and not to tell you. Other than that, even I don’t know.” She skips down the stairs excitedly, Willow walking down with her. There are two cars waiting outside and the witches pile into them as Willow glances to Zander.“You and Alaric have been close recently,” she starts, and Zander laughs.“You’d have more luck asking Gwenael; whatever’s happening he hasn’t told me. Maybe it’s just a night off, like he said.” She gives in, climbing into one of the cars and staying quiet as everyone else talks arou
Going home everyone is quiet, unsure of how things will go tomorrow. It will be hard; they plan to talk to the witches before Alaric appears, but the witches are smart and some will be able to sense that he’s been there so frequently. Willow finds herself drifting asleep in Alaric’s arms, smiling and happy. He agreed; she hadn’t expected him to agree, not so soon anyway. She also never expected him to propose. She guesses, lately, he’s just been very unexpected.Waking up the next morning she smiles, glancing to Alaric as she kisses him gently.“Morning,” he smiles at her as he slowly sits up. “No time for lying here and cuddling. I need to leave before your visitors arrive.”Willow nods and laughs, both of them getting ready and walking downsta
Alaric finds himself tuning in to Willow sporadically to check she is okay, the sound of Azalea crying making him hurt, his head shaking as he stands.“Mate, give them chance to tell the witches about you,” says Gwenael, but Alaric shakes his head again.“No. She was crying when I left, it’s been an hour since then and she’s worse than before. I need to check, there are too many there for me to see clearly. Anything could be wrong.” He can’t ignore it; leaving he walks quickly there and stops outside before he opens the door, everyone turning to look at him.His eyes flit to Azalea cuddled up against Willow, her face hidden in Willow’s chest.“What did you all do to her?” Azalea unpeels herself from Willow at the sound of Alaric’s voice, running to him and enveloping him in a huge bear hug.“Nothing. This is only going to get more complicated if anything, so sit down, Alaric. M
“She might be.” Katarina wonders aloud. “We won’t know until we try.”“No! You are not testing a theory out on her. What if she dies trying, then what? I won’t agree to it.” He looks around at them all.“I have to agree with him; until we can be sure she is strong enough we can’t risk it. All the other witches turned: they didn’t just draw the magic in, they turned into vampires before dying.”Willow looks towards Zander, shocked. “I agree, I won’t do it. I won’t risk becoming that even if I’ll die straight after, no way.” Katarina nods slightly.“In that case, Willow, you have to try every day to unlock more, to unlock the next step. If it is foreseen that you and Alaric will marry, then fine
Willow finds out more about her parents as Katarina talks about them; about how she had watched them grow up alongside Rosita. Rosita tells her stories about her parents and how she practiced spells next to them. Willow finds herself worn out, going over and over everything so that Katarina understands. While there were battles, Willow knows it is nothing compared to the battle that will take place when they meet the vampires. Most have spent centuries ensuring they didn’t kill while feeding, so the threat that the Monventla may change that scares them all.DAN“You said I could have her.” He looks towards Marcel, waiting.“Which has ch
WILLOWIt’s been a few weeks since Camille disappeared and no-one has seen or heard from her. The wedding planning seems to be going well, with Azalea helping Willow, but there’s something odd about the absence of Camille that worries Willow. She’d at least like to know where Camille is, for peace of mind if not anything else. It’s quiet in the house; Alaric left around a week ago to spread the word about the alliance between the werewolves and the witches, and Azalea’s spending the day with Zander and the rest of the coven.“Morning, queen,” comes a deep voice from behind her. Willow jumps up and hugs Alaric tightly.“Did you miss me?” He asks, inhaling the familiar scent of her and smiling as sh
