Chapter 11

By the time Alex came out of his closet, I was more clear headed, and the beast had been calmed. I looked up as he came closer to me, noting the way the buttons on his shirt struggled to hold him in.

Oh, to be like that button.

But I waved that thought from my mind; instead, I focused on his outfit choice. “Do you own any other colors apart from these depressing ones?” All the times I have been here, he was usually in a shade of black or another dark color. Alex looked down at his clothes, his face scrunching into a frown.

“It is very practical.” He shrugged.

“Yea, whatever.”

“Shall we?” Alex asked, stretching out his arms,a huge smile on his face. Charmed, I returned the smile, hooked my arms in his, and let him lead me.

Alex drove into town, stopped in front of a store, and this time I waited for him to open the door for me. I deserve all the baby treatment I can get, so if he wants to do it, I will allow him.
