Athena's POV

I sat quietly in Velyana's apartment. She had gone to have breakfast with her mate on the balcony. I was invited but three is a crowd and I believe they are off to a good start.

My heart gets this fuzzy feeling whenever I watch them. Even now I could see Velyana trying out something with him. They were cute and perfect for each other.

What I walked into last night flashed before my eyes. I don't even know why I was hurt but I was. Lycan Alpha Zephyr has never exclusively said anything to me about love. He only said we would get married at the next full moon which was coming closer.

But what man makes such promises to a Nobody when he can have someone like the rich lady from the dinner?

I sighed as I played with the food on my plate. My heart sank as my mind raced to my sister and mother.

Goddess! I was such a bad daughter and big sister!

I haven't given myself space to think about my mother or my sister. Maybe it's because I was scared to believe the unthinkable.
