My head was splitting. It was the sharp, pulsing pain right behind my eyes that hadn’t stopped since I woke up. Every time I moved, it throbbed harder, like someone was tapping nails into my skull.

GraceUniversity felt like torture today. My head was splitting. It was the sharp, pulsing pain right behind my eyes that hadn’t stopped since I woke up. Every time I moved, it throbbed harder, like someone was tapping nails into my skull. I hadn’t slept. I could not. Not really. All night my mind kept replaying flashes of last night. The Elite Club, those red lights, smoke, strong hands pinning me to a wall, a low voice whispering my name like it already owned me. That familiar stranger- had crawled inside my brain and refused to leave. I tossed and turned until dawn. My cheeks burned, heart raced, body restless in ways I didn’t want to admit. How could I feel this for a stranger? A … stalker!? Now I was slumped over my desk in the back row of my third class. My hoodie was pulled up, trying- well more like failing to look like I was taking notes. My pen hadn’t moved in twenty minutes.Stella leaned over from the seat beside me and voiced a dramatic whisper. “You look like death wa

AdrianI leaned against the balcony railing staring at the city lights sprawled below like a carpet of fireflies. The cigarette had burned out long ago, but I didn’t light another. My mind was too full. Too tangled with the thoughts of … her. Grace. That little bunny with her wide eyes and drunken giggles. She’d kissed me like she meant it. She clung to me like I was her goddamn hero and then forgot everything by morning. The thought made my lips curl into a smirk without me even realizing it. My little bunny. So innocent. So fearless in her haze. She had no idea she’d awakened something in me. Something dark. Something that wanted to chase, to claim, to break her just enough to make her mine forever. She dared forget me. I’d make sure she never did again. No woman had ever made me this impatience, this reckless and had never made me feel a certain way but that goddamn little bunny stirred everything fucking upside down inside of me. I was lost in thoughts of my bunny when the doo

GraceMy heart slammed against my ribs so hard I thought it might crack them. My eyes widened at the sight of him. He was coming down the stairs. Each step was deliberate and unhurried, like he had all the time in the world because he already knew I wasn’t going anywhere. Each step he took seemed to race my heart even more than before. Those grey eyes never left mine, not for a single second. Darkened. Burning. Possessive in a way that made my stomach flip and my skin crawl at the same time.Fear. That was what I felt. A real, cold fear snaked through me. I knew danger when I saw it. And danger was walking straight toward me.I had to get out. Now.I stepped back, my heel catching on the edge of the dance floor. Frederick’s hand was still on my waist, but I barely felt it. My pulse roared in my ears. And I could hear my inner thoughts shouting at me to escape. I turned sharply, ready to bolt. “Grace?” Frederick’s voice cut through the music, confused. His fingers tightened on mine an

Grace The Dark Elite Club felt like stepping into a different world. One where every shadow hid a secret and every glance meant something more. I gulped the lump formed in my throat and shifted uncomfortably on the high stool at the bar, my leather skirt riding up just a bit as I crossed my legs. The air was thick with expensive cologne and low murmurs, the red lights casting everything in a sultry glow that made my skin prickle. Everything here screamed wealth and power but what made me uneasy was … the danger that lingered in the air. I glanced around, trying to shake off the weird knot in my stomach. The moment I had stepped into THE CLUB, I had been feeling this uneasy feeling that I have been watched but- It must be my mind. I sighed and turned to divert my attention somewhere else. Laila and Kristy were already owning the dance floor, laughing as a couple of guys in sharp suits circled them like sharks. They looked effortless out there. So pretty, confident, the kind of gi

Grace‘ Adrian Valente- ‘Sunlight stabbed straight into my skull the second I opened my eyes. I whimpered, low and pathetic, and tried to roll away from the window. My arm stretched out as I tried to relax my stressed muscles but,it was a big mistake. A sharp, throbbing pain exploded behind my eyes like someone had taken a hammer to my temples. I groaned louder and instantly curled into a ball under the blanket for a second before forcing myself to sit up.My vision blurred as I felt the room spun once, then settled. Barely. I dragged a hand through my hair. Feeling the tangled, greasy, disgusting texture- and caught my reflection in the full-length mirror across from the bed.Jesus.Mascara had raccooned down my cheeks in black streaks. Lipstick was smeared across my chin like a bad crime scene. My eyes were puffy and red and my hair was sticking up in every direction. I looked like I’d been hit by a truck full of regret. I looked awful.I groaned again, louder this time, and not

AdrianThe mansion doors swung open with the kind of silence only fear creates. “Pakhan, she is here,” Damien said, the second my foot crossed the threshold. She was here. He did not need to ask who it was. He knew and I didn’t answer.I didn’t need to.My men in black suits lined the foyer like statues. Their heads bowed so low that their chins nearly touched their chests. Their guns tugged at their sides and their eyes on the marble floor. They felt the storm rolling off me before I even spoke.Damien fell into step behind me, quiet for once. He knew better than to push tonight. But he also knew not to say anything when Pakhan did not want to. The mansion was dead silent like always except for the echo of my footsteps. My steps were sharp, deliberate and each one announcing I was done playing games.“She’s in your room- ” Damien started. Before he could inform me of something I already knew, I raised my palm without looking back. He stopped.Smart man.I climbed the stairs alone. My
