MasukChapter - 02 - A Cruel Fate
Alenna’s The sudden force whelmed over my will, and I found myself weakened at the knees. I fought to keep my stance still, but ultimately faltered as I shattered whole onto my knees. He could view my struggle. As if amused, his head tilted while his gaze lowered on me like a vulture. I didn’t mind my defeat, I kept to my hustle to wiggle off the potency of his might that had me lagging and on my knees. My efforts caught his attention as he curved a little smirk. Slowly, he drifted close and closer. Darkness spread across from him as he covered the little distance between us, and the darkness reverted back inside of him once he arrived in front of me. I strained to bop my head up to look into his face. I blinked, utterly stunned by his scarring beauty. “Like what you see?” He remarked at my absolute fascination. I frowned instantly, casting a cold expression. “Why are you here?” I grilled, unbothered by the rage lacing my tone at him. He tsked, his brows raised. “I’ll be asking the questions. Got it, princess?” His palm stretched, large and rigid as he brought it in contact with my jaw. His touch sent my lids shut, sizzling like a taste of spark, yet dangerous like the edge of a dagger. “Now who are you?” His question brought me back to the moment, where I’m but a slave to his imposing power and sovereignty. “Lady Alenna of House Grewin,” I watched a dark grin crack across his lips. His flat gentle touch on my jaw roughened into a grip, rugged as he forced my head back so he could tower completely over me. “I’m here to kill you and your family-“ “I’m your fated.” I had to bring it to his attention if he wasn’t going to acknowledge it. Or doesn’t he feel the spark like I’ve been feeling since my eyes set on him? Is he incapable? His touch dropped from jaw and straight down to my neck as he circled a harsh seize around me, forcing me to choke out cough after cough. “You are nothing!” Like a demon summoned to speech, the words chanted out loud and aggressively. A reaction not only limited to his words, but also visibly expressed on his face. His eyes had gone dark, and black short veins trailed the context of his vision. I took my gaze off his face that had taken a mask of something scary. However, I watched as dark smoke flayed into existence, coming together and towards his other hand. In no time, a sword had been formed, long and sharp with dark smoke glazing the edges. He brought the sword close, replacing it with the hand he had pinning my neck but keeping it an inch away from contact. One single move from him or me could have the sword drawing blood and my life with it. “Make mention of that error again, and your death will come sooner than it should. Got it?” I looked down at the sword almost stabbing into my neck, gulping as fear dominated me like a wailing screech. “Y…yes… y- yes….” A response stuttered out of me. Right before my eyes, the sword vanished into a thick black smoke leaving his folded palm pointed at my neck. “You have two options. The first is to either show me the rest of your family to consume, or everybody dies.” He leaned straight following his utterance, barely affected with the weight of his words. I kept my mouth shut, and gaze locked somewhere other than the sight of his face. He’s a psychopath, and there’s probably no cruise to the threat he made just now. I’d be damned before I offer my entire family for him to kill or consume; whatever he meant by the latter. “Do not bore me with your silence, make a choice and let me go with it,” I heard him urge, harmlessly. How could he sound so harmless when he’s a spawn of darkness and destruction. “My family fled the moment you started your attack. Only my mom and I stayed back to defend our home,” I gave him an answer. Oh no, my mother! Is she still alive? There’s no way she could’ve survived these men, they were brutal and I wouldn’t have been able to take on them if I hadn’t channeled my emotions. “Look up at me and repeat yourself,” he instructed in a cold voice. I did as he requested, looked up at him and said, “My brothers fled the moment you invaded, only myself and my mother stayed back to fight and defend our home from your invasion.” My fear was masked, perfectly hidden so he wouldn’t sniff at the lies in my statement. I don’t have to sacrifice everyone’s lives to save my brother, I only have to be smart about it. He smirked. A very disturbing diabolical smirk. Could he tell I lied to him? Fuck I’m back to being scared. I mustn’t let it show, I need to keep to my blank face. “They fled the city, you say?” He raised a questioning brow at me. I nodded, hard and fast. “Use your words,” “Yes. They fled the city, they’re no longer here.” I retorted in a sharp tone. “Okay.” He nodded his head, as if in agreement. “I hear you, but that means everyone here has to die. The choice was to rather save your family or them, and it looks like your family is saved.” His eyes snapped closed, reopening in an instant under a new shade. His pupils- they’ve gone pitch black, completely dark. He lifted up the floor, floating up till he was meters up in the air. Black smoke began to seep out from his body, slowly at first but then gradually rising. The smoke doubled, foaming out of him till he completely dispersed into the black smoke. Once he faded into it, the smoke thickened into dark particles that exploded and rapidly spread all through the room. The darkness soon covered my vision. I could no longer see, as well as contain the sudden chill that plagued my body afterwards. My mind raced to my brothers, to my brothers. Good goddess, they need to survive this. I don’t know what’s happening right now. Is this his way of killing everybody like he said he would? He threatened to consume my family, is he currently consuming the kingdom? He is the night Alpha. I see why he’s referred to as such now with the nature of his power. The cold dominating my system was starting to affect my stamina as I fell weak to the floor. Is he going to consume me alongside everyone else? Why do I have to be fated to him? This is a cruel fate.Chapter - 04 - That Easy?Alenna…….‘s standpoint. His options might be merciless, but it’s the end of a cruel fate. “I chose to sacrifice my life for them,” I declared, my tone grounded and expression solid to mask whatever fear I had plaguing my system right now. He smirked, a diabolical side smile. His index went up to his lips as he tilted his head a little to the side, his gaze focused on me. “Interesting, step forward will you..?” He flicked at me, beckoning for me to come close. I pushed out of my knelt down position and stalked forward at a draggy pace. I’ve chosen to die, to sacrifice myself without knowing the fate of my family. Did they survive this ambush? Or they’ve gone along with it? I could only pray hard to the goddess to please keep them safe and alive. I arrived and stood at the same spot he had the innocent guy drained of life moments ago. Ready to embrace my fate, my eyes snapped close. “Any last words?” His voice breezed through my hearing, but I shook my
Chapter - 03 - Deadliest Options Alenna……‘s standpoint I was weak, my mouth tasted sour, and my system felt sore. Trails of numbness plagued all over my skin, and the cracked lines of cold bathed me in scars. I coughed, frailed and almost choked out my lungs. This is what has become my life since the arrival of the cruel Alpha. He’s had half of the kingdom’s population consumed and no more, whilst the few rest of us are now forcefully subjected to his grim rules and reign. Turns out his darkness refusing to swallow me once spread out was a phenomenon he’s never experienced, and was willing to understand before he plans to take my life. I’ve been thrown inside this dark dungeon for sometime now, locked away from seeing the sun or the night sky in general. This is the new fate of a whole nation’s princess. A prisoner locked up, starved and battered with zero regard for whatever happens to her. I couldn’t check on my siblings or find out what has become of their own fate as well.

Chapter - 01 - The Fall Of House Grewin Alenna…….’s standpoint. The night was in its usual calmness, and the sky was gentle as ever. It was my nightly routine to watch the stars through the window before I settled in for the day.I was still engrossed in the night’s beauty when the first scream ripped out into the air, raw and the loudest I’ve ever heard- a hurtful screech to my ears. My vision zoomed into the kingdom below me, alarmed and frightened. Something is wrong, I squinted at the hooded men on horses as they mounted any houses in sight. My feet took to motion as I dashed out of my room in a frantic pursuit. My mother came out to meet me before I could arrive at her chamber, the same dread in her eyes. “Alenna, find your brothers. Get them both to safety,” she instructed before she took off. Dad wasn’t around so the weight of the kingdom’s protection was upon us. The weight of this invasion was upon my mom. I arrived at my brother's chambers to see they were already aw
Prologue Alenna Two centuries ago, before the domination of werewolves, lived the fearsome days of vampires, in league with the witches. A forged alliance that promised a prominent darkness to rule over the days of the past. Existence was shrunken, survival diminished, and life itself withered little by little. There was no savior, no knight, no hero produced by the old or new gods to save humanity. No matter the prayers, the pleas, the cries to the sky, to the old and new gods. There was no interference from them, it was as though they didn’t exist or care to save them as well as listen to their clamors. Chaos mounted the world of supernatural, darkness swayed out the peace, and an era of havoc began. For decades following decades, the world was thrusted into a pirating darkness. The endless abyss of chaos, and the constant shambles of destruction. It was never ending, a version of the end. Tales spoke of how children were born, raised, and died to the world’s cruelty.
