Seraphina's POV. “The air reeked of smoke and blood. Everything was too quiet, bodies everywhere. The Black Wolf seems like he was gone, his laughter was finally silence, but it didn’t feel like a win. It felt heavy, like the kind of victory that breaks you instead of lifting you. We had won. The war was over But at what cost? Standing on the edge of the ruins with my sword, I felt like I was pulling at the weight of a thousand pounds of metal. Before me, I could see the battlefield, the land that had once belonged to it now in ruins and the bodies of our soldiers and their rogue companions scattered like forgotten sacrifices. The kingdom was saved, but the cost was evident. It had cost us everything. “I looked around, my eyes were moving over the wreckage. The ground was soaked in blood, the air felt so heavy with death and it made me sick. Friends, allies…people I’d fought beside, gone. I glanced into his eyes for just a moment and in them, I saw the strain the crushing weight of everything riding on his shoulders. But his resolve was unwavering and in that moment. That was all I needed to know. We couldn’t back down now. Not when the Black Wolf’s shadow was already creeping over everything we’d fought to protect. We will, I whispered my voice was too calm despite

The final rogue tribe was assembled at the gates of the kingdom, an unapologetic army without any mercy. Though we were outnumbered. We were tired. But we weren't defeated. I felt a silent sense of weight on my shoulder, as her hand gently gripped me.
