ELARA'S POV

The days since Ronan's arrival had been a blur of tension and awkward events. His stubborn refusal to leave the Lycan realm had become the latest palace scandal, whispered about in hushed tones by gossiping servants and debated by the bewildered elders.

A werewolf Alpha, practically camping out in their most fortified palace, all for a mere blood healer simply because of love? It was like an insult to their strength, a challenge to their authority, and, quite frankly, utterly ridiculous.

And there was nothing, absolutely nothing, I could do about it. Every attempt made to reason with Ronan, to explain the sheer absurdity of the situation, was met with that same infuriatingly unwavering gaze, and the maddeningly simple declaration.

THIRD PERSON POVTwo days had passed since Ryker that dispatched the coded message to his hidden forces, the loyalists and mercenaries scattered throughout the vast expanse of the Lycan territory, men and women who knew no law but Ryker's will, no allegiance but to his ambition. These were wolves that had been cast out, the outcasts and the rejects, those with a deep hunger for power. The seeds of chaos, carefully cultivated and patiently nurtured, had been sown, and now, it was time to reap the bloody harvest."My Lord," Fenrir, a towering figure of muscle and bone with a jagged scar that bisected his left eye, knelt before Ryker. His massive frame casting a long, ominous shadow across the chamber. His intimidating presence filled the room, a stark testament to his brute through years of bloodshed and shared ambition. "You summoned us, My Lord?""My brother has foolishly vacated the throne, leaving the realm vulnerable and exposed," Ryker said, his voice filled with ambition as he st

THIRD PERON POV'The Lycan is no longer in the Lycan realm.'The news struck Ryker with the force of a physical blow, a delicious, almost unbearable shock that sent a jolt of pure unadulterated ambition coursing through his veins. The words delivered by a breathless messenger, his eyes side with a mixture of fear and excitement, were music to Ryker's ears, a symphony of an opportunity long overdue. It was just the opening he had been meticulously planning for, the chink in the armor he needed to exploit to reclaim his birthright, or what he believed to be his birthright.Ryker, brother to Kael, the current Alpha of the Lycan pack, harbored a resentment so deep, so fiercely nurtured it had become the very marrow of his bones. He craved for the throne, yearned for the power that emanated from it, the respect it commanded, the absolute, unwavering control it afforded, the intimidation it brought upon others. He burned with the conviction that this authority, this dominion, was rightfull

ELARA'S POV"What do you mean, leave?" He boomed, the sound reverberating through the small space, sending another of fear through me. He stepped closer, his shadow looming over me. "Explain to me. Explain why I travelled all this way, risked everything, only to be told to....leave.""Ronan," I sighed, the word a heavy exhale of frustration and despair. "We can't do this. You shouldn't have come here. This was a mistake. A huge, terrible mistake." I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to ward off the chill that had settled deep into my bones. My wolf on the other hand was trembling inside, lately she had been disconnected, but right now, all I could feel was her pain and sorrow. His brows furrowed. "Yes, you're right." He said, his voice surprisingly soft and warm."What?" I arched a brow at him, momentarily thrown off by his unexpected agreement."You're right. It was a mistake....letting you go was the most foolish things I had ever done in my entire life."For some reason, those

ELARA'S POVThe words hung in the air, thick and heavy, like a shroud. "Alpha Ronan of the Mountain Dew Pack is here." The guard had announced, his voice echoing in the small office."And.." The guard began as his eyes trailed to me. "He requests to speak with Miss Elara."My breath hitched. Ronan. Here? After everything? Why would he do something like that? A tremor ran through me, a chilling mix of fear and a strange, unwelcome thrill. My gaze flickered to Kael, whose eyes had tudned to a dangerous shade of obsidian. His jaw was clenched hard, a muscle ticking furiously in his cheek."You wait here," he growled, his voice tight with barely suppressed fury. "I'll go handle things."Handle things? As if Ronan were some rogue paperwork he could simply shuffle away. I wanted to protest, to scream at him not to go, but a strange paralysis held me captive. He was right, of course. I couldn't face Ronan now. Not after everything. He almost died because of me, the thought of seeing him agai

ELARA'S POVA Week Later. It's been a week since the chilling confirmation about the sender behind those blank letters. Darius. There was no doubt about it, no one else wanted me, no one else was chasing, it was only him.And just like Kael said, he wouldn't stop until he got what he wanted. The air in Kael's palace had been very suffocating, it thrummed with a nervous enegry that mirrored my own. Every shadow seemed deeper, every sound sharper. A sigh escaped my lips as I watched the snow fall outside my window. The white flakes drifted down, blanketing the Lycan lands in a deceptive layer of peace. The door creaked open, and Kael walked in, a wave of warmth accompanying him."Hey," he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I was wondering where you were." He looked concerned, and I couldn't help but feel a little guilty for shutting myself away."Hi," I smiled, a weak imitation of genuine happiness. He sat down on the chair beside the bed, and I walked over to the bed to sit."W
