ELARA'S POV

The air crackled with raw enegry, thick with the scent of blood, sweat and fur.

War.

There was a war going on, just to escape me from this prison Darius had captured and kept me in. Kael held me right, shielding me away from the rogue wolves that threatened to harm us. I clung to him, my other hand cradling my belly, for all the stress I've been through, I had to be extremely careful.

"Are you and the child alright?" Kael asked, his eyes still fixed on the Rogues that surronded us.

"Yes," I nodded, still holding onto him firmly.

The rest of his men were around us, also protecting the prisoners that they had helped escape. Suddenly, a rogue pushed foward and attacked Kael. A searing pain exploded across my side as Kael and I were sent flying to the other side.

THIRD PERSON POVDarius walked towards Celeste's room, his footsteps heavy on the stone floor. He reached for the doorknob and twisted it, his breath catching in his throat as he walked in.Earlier, he had instructed the guards that guarded her room to leave. He needed space, some time alone to be with his daughter.Celetse laid on the bed, her face still pale. The sight of her looking so vulnerable and lifeless broke his heart."I've failed you," he murmured under his breath as he slowly walked towards her. "I failed to protect your mother. I also failed to protect you."He sighed heavily, his shoulders slumping with weariness. He gently took her hand, his fingers tracing the delicate lines of her palm."But, no matter what. You will be healed," he said in a low dangerous tone, his brows furrowing as he spoke. "I'll find a way. Even if it means I have to offer the greatest sacrifice."The words hung heavy in the air. Darius's desperation had finally reached a fever pitch. The ends ju

THIRD PERSON POVDarius sat on his throne, the echo of Elara's power that day still reverberating within him. He'd dismissed it at first as a blood healer strength, or probably the strength was caused by adrenaline and the desperate need to protect her mate, Ronan. But the bright light that erupted from her body and the aura that was around her wolf unsettled him.His palace was still in chaos, part of it was in rumbles. He had to relocate to a smaller base, one he had kept hidden and away from others. The image of her wolf, bathed in that unusual light, moving with a swiftness that defies her inexperience and youth.Perhaps wasn't she all that she seemed? It gnawed at him. He'd felt the force of her blow, a force that shouldn't have been possible for an ordinary wolf, talkless of a female wolf.He suddenly stood up, the scraping sound of his boots against the stone floor echoed in the vast Hall. Frustration surged through him, a bitter mix of anger and fear.He slammed a fist into th

ELARA'S POVThe words hung heavy in the air. I saw Kael's shoulders tense, a flicker of surprise in his posture. He slowly turned around, his eyes searching mine, disbelief etched across his face."What?" He whispered, his voice barely audible. "What do you mean?""I do," I said, my voice stronger and steady now. "I love you Kael. But... It's different. It's not the same as what I feel for Ronan. But I still do, I just can't explain it."I knew this wasn't enough, I knew that my words couldn't erase the pain of fill the void in their heart. But I had to say it I knew they both wanted me to pick, but I couldn't.How could they expect me to pick one out of the two of them? Is it wrong to love them both? Was I crazy? It was easier to just pick Ronan...we already had a child on the way...but Kael... I couldn't risk it, I couldn't risk living with regrets all my life so it's best I confess everything now once and for all."Kael, I want you to know that you're loved, valued, and so importan

ELARA'S POVThe look on Ronan's face was heartbreaking. Betrayal warred with love, confused. He looked from Kael to me, his eyes searching for answers, for reassurance."I can't believe you'd hide something like that from me and tell him!" Ronan roared."It's not her fault!" Kael backfired. "You rejected her and I had no other choice!""Who made me reject her, ugh?! You were planning to run away with her!"Kael's brow furrowed as his rage increased. "Who didn't give her a chance to explain herself!"Ronan went silent, his eyes still fixed on Kael with immense anger."You two, please!" I interjected, my voice pleading as I jumped in-between them. I faced Ronan. "I told Kael. I begged him not to say anything. I wanted to tell you myself, in my own time." I fixed my gaze on Ronan, trying to make him believe him. "Please, you have to believe me. I needed to tell you first, you had to hear it from me first."His ragged breaths became even, he then locked his eyes on mine. "If I never came,

ELARA'S POVThe first thing I felt when I woke up was exhaustion. A bone-deep weariness that settled in my bone. The second was a full ache that throbbed in every muscle. I opened my eyes, wincing at the bright light. The room was sterile, smelling of disinfectant and herbs. It was the infirmary..... The one at Kael's pack.I tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over me. I groaned and fell back against the pillows, turning my head slowly.I saw him....Ronan.He laid on a bed beside me, his face pale, his body wrapped in bandages. He was so still....too still, that it scared me.Panic seized me, cold and suffocating. My throat felt dry, my heart felt heavy with guilt. I had to do something.I had to save him.I moved from the bed, standing on my feet, I slowly walked towards him, gently carcassing his face. He was still warm, just.....badly injured My gaze darted around the room, desperately looking for something. On a nearby table, I spotted a blade. Without hesitating, I
