Chapter 24 : Becoming friends with the enemy.

Marco’s POV

“She left earlier,” I lied smoothly. “She wanted to say hello but she suddenly started feeling nauseous and decided it was best to go and rest.”

“Hmm… okay. I was shocked when the receptionist told me on my way out that Gabrielle came to see me over 10mins ago, and should be in my office, so I hurriedly came back to see if she was fine.”

“Anyways, I'm on my way to meet a new client. Please you can go home, I'll come home when I'm through. I love you.” She blew me some kisses and left.

“I love you too.” I replied smiling, yet feeling the pain of jealousy rise in me again.

I stared at the floor where Gabrielle’s phone fell earlier, deep in thoughts.

My thoughts ran wild with ideas on how to trick Frances into signing those documents without making it obvious that there's more to it.

And Gabrielle, she walked out saying she was in good spirits for now, but I know she wouldn’t stay quiet.

And I wasn’t going to wait for her to st

  • Bound by Blood: The Alpha's Forbidden Mate    Chapter 45

Chapter 45 — The Lies She WoveGabrielle’s POVI was halfway through sipping the bitter tea Giovanni had brought me when he stepped into the room, closing the door behind him.His gaze was steady, but there was something sharp beneath it.“Lily… we need to talk. We need to talk about who took you to the hospital, why and what happened the night I saved you?”The sound of that made my pulse skip. I kept my expression blank, even as the air seemed to thicken.“I told you—”“You’ve told me nothing,” he cut in quietly. “And now I need to know the truth. Who are you really? And why did Alpha Rossi take you to that hospital?”The steam from the tea rose between us, but my mouth had gone dry. I opened my mouth to speak, ready to put together another careful lie, because I can't tell them what truly happened. The door opened and Lucian walked in.I felt my muscles coil instantly, the way a prey reacts when a predator enters the room. His presence sucked the oxygen out of the air, his shadow

Chapter 44 — Lily or Gabrielle Lucian’s POVGiovanni was about to head inside when my phone buzzed.I pulled it from my pocket and checked the message. It was from Marco.“Where the hell are you? You forgot our meeting.”I cursed under my breath.Giovanni raised a brow. “Is there a problem?”“It's Marco. We had a strategy meeting at the border camp. I forgot.”He nodded slowly. “You should go. He’s probably already pacing.”“Yeah.” I slipped the phone back into my coat. “I won’t be long.”As I turned to leave, Giovanni called out, “Don’t worry about her.”I paused, then nodded once. “I’m not.”But I was.And I would be.The ride down the hill was fast and rough. The sky was bleeding orange at the edges when I reached the meeting point near the forest checkpoint.Marco was pacing by his jeep, a cigarette hanging from his mouth, his hands shoved in his jacket pockets. The moment he saw me, he threw the cigarette away and walked up, frowning.“Did you forget how to read a clock?” he sai

Chapter 43 – The Pull I Can't DenyLucian's POVI hadn’t moved from the edge of the forest. The moon was gone now, tucked behind heavy clouds, but I didn’t need light to feel her.She was inside the cabin, her scent still swirling in the cold night air like a curse I couldn’t outrun. The scent of wildflowers and determination to survive. My wolf paced, restless, furious with me.You rejected her. You insulted her.You failed your mate.I growled low, running a hand through my hair. I hadn’t meant to say those words in front of her. Heck, I didn’t even know she was standing there until I smelled her pain.Giovanni had brought a stranger into our woods, a stranger with a target on her back. And what did I do? I sized her up like she was the enemy. Like she wasn’t already bleeding inside. And then she snapped. Not just with tears. Not with trembling silence like most would.No.She roared. Her words had cut through the air like a knife, every syllable burning through the arrogance I’d

Chapter 42 – The one I can't silence Gabrielle’s POVI didn’t ask for a warm welcome, but I didn’t expect to be treated like I was invisible either.Lucian stood in the corner, arms crossed, eyes cold and unreadable. Not a word. Not a glance. Nothing. He didn't even acknowledge the fact that I was standing right there when he said all those hurtful words. Not even after I greeted him with a shaky smile and offered him tea with trembling hands. And yet, he acted like I wasn’t even worthy to be saved.Like I wasn’t worthy to breathe the same air with him.Like I hadn’t just survived the worst night of my life. The final slap came when I heard his voice, not to me, but to Giovanni.“You brought her here? Why would you risk everything for someone you know nothing about?”Someone you know nothing about. As if it would have been better if Giovanni had allowed me to die.As if I were some disease Giovanni had dragged in.I gritted my teeth, the words echoing in my head like venom.I dropped

Chapter 41 – Fate's Cruel Twist Gabrielle’s POV It had been hours since we crossed the last checkpoint, but my heart was still beating like I had war drums inside my chest. The woods were quiet.Too quiet. The only sound was the occasional sound of tires over gravel and the tired creaking sound of the car, as Giovanni drove us deeper into nowhere. The forest thickened, trees closing in like guardians protecting secrets.I glanced at him.His knuckles were white on the steering wheel. His shirt was soaked with blood, some of it dried, some still fresh. His jaw was clenched like he hadn’t unclenched it in hours.“You’re hurt,” I said softly.“I’ve had worse.”“But—”He cut me off with a glance. “We’re almost there.”“Where are we?” I asked.“Part of the Silver Claw pack.” He said. Minutes later, we pulled into a small, overgrown clearing. A narrow wooden cabin stood in the middle. It was old and silent. Like a place even the wind didn’t bother visiting anymore.Giovanni shut off the

Chapter 40 – A night that never happened Alpha Rossi’s POV I stopped at the entrance of my villa, the guards straightened instantly. My eyes narrowed on the soldier closest to my car.“You,” I barked. “Anything unusual while we were gone?”He stiffened. “No, Alpha. There was no movement at the gate, and no calls came in either.”“Good.” I signalled for him to come closer, lowering my voice to almost a whisper. “Did my Luna ask for me?”He hesitated and I became uncomfortable. My eyes darkened. “Did she?”“She… she asked once, Alpha. She said she had a strange feeling, but a servant distracted her by letting her know her tea was ready and she went to bed shortly after.”The sleeping drug. It must’ve worked.Still, something crawled under my skin.I don’t like whenever she starts having “feelings.” Whenever she starts saying this, she starts to dig into secrets that are way beyond her. It makes her suspect everything I do and I am not ready to go through the torture of hiding anything
