Chapter 86 – Blood on the Stone

Giovanni’s POV

The second Gabrielle said Marco knew we were going to rescue Crystal, my stomach twisted in fear.

Of course Marco knew. The hollow tunnel was not just an abandoned tunnel filled with stones and dirt, I felt darkness in the atmosphere. Every step we took, I could feel it, like other creatures were watching us through the cracks in the walls.

And then it happened.

The torches flickered, and the air became very cold.

From the shadows, a growl echoed. The growl was obviously not from one wolf, but from many wolves.

“Get behind me!” I said quickly, pulling Gabrielle close to me. Alejandro was already shifting into position, his claws out, eyes glowing.

Figures crawled out of the darkness. Wolves—black as ash, their eyes glowing red. They were not normal wolves. These things were twisted, their bodies scarred and bent like Marco had ripped them apart and put them back together.

One jumped at us.
