Chapter Sixty-Nine

Dominic sat down on the edge of the bed and placed the cup of tea on the nightstand. Rafaella looked so peaceful that he almost didn’t want to wake her. He didn’t want her to wake up alone either.

He wondered how long it would be before Hudson told Gage what had happened in that car with him and Rafaella. Gage was the only one that would dare to take Dominic on. He had no doubts that Hudson would try to hurt him in a fit of rage but he wouldn’t be very successful.

“Rafi,” he said softly and rubbed his hand over her arm. Her skin was warm and soft and if this meeting wasn’t crucial to their survival, Dominic would’ve said fuck it and stayed in bed with her.

“What?” she asked grumpily and he smiled.

“I’m sorry to wake you. I’m leaving in the next five minutes and I didn’t want you to wake up alone,” he said. “Remy will stay here with you until we return.”

“Okay,” she mumbled.

“About last night,” he said and watched as her eyes finally opened. “You won’t regret it.”
