Part Seventy

The elevator doors opened and Dominic surveyed the open area in front of him. Lev Volkov stood in front of the large windows, looking out. He had four men with him as well. He turned when he heard Dominic’s footsteps and they met in the middle of the room.

Dominic’s eyes missed nothing. Lev Volkov looked too comfortable, too relaxed and he had to wonder what game Lev was playing. The man clearly had a death wish or he was an idiot. Dominic didn’t mind being the one to teach him a lesson.

Construction was still being done and the floor was open to either side. There was nowhere for additional men to hide and Austin nodded his head at Dominic. Lev stuck his hand out and Dominic shook it.

He resisted the urge to crush Lev’s hand. Dominic stared into his blue eyes but whatever he was looking for wasn’t there. Lev was unreadable, something Dominic would’ve appreciated in an ally but not in an enemy.
