Chapter 2: The night of the full moon 

Shivers ran down my spine the moment our eyes locked. The intensity of her gaze frightened me, and I wished this had never happened. How would she believe me now?

I'm scared beyond words. Facing her feels impossible, and I wish the ground would swallow me whole. At least everything would end if that could happen.

I quickly put on my shirt and leaned toward her, desperate to explain myself before she misunderstood everything.

"It's not what you think, my love."

A deep breath escaped me; perhaps her mate could clarify things and help her understand my intentions.

"Iris tried to seduce me, and when she knew her plan wasn't working, she went ahead and took off her shirt."

My mouth gasped, and I blinked in shock. My eyes dimmed with anger as I tried to understand why he did what he did.

My body was paralyzed; I couldn't move or form coherent thoughts about what was happening.

I could only remain in one position, dumbfounded by the situation.

Suddenly, I felt a hand clutching my ears as I turned to my left. It was Luna Caroline, dragging my ears at that moment.

"You filthy, lowly whore. Who says you can seduce my mate?"

She bellowed with rage and betrayal in her voice. Her eyes fumed with hatred, her teeth clenched, appearing, ready to devour her prey.

"Iris, how could you?!" She yelled my name again, dragging my ears and ending with a slap across my face.

"Father, what's happening?" A familiar voice echoed, interrupting her from hitting me further.

It was his son—Cole—who would soon take after his father. He was the only one who cared for me as a slave here.  

Although he wanted my body just like his father. But he wasn't that desperate. 

I looked at him with disappointment, tears threatening to fall. I couldn't bear the pain they always inflicted on me, especially Alpha Carson.

"Go pack your things and get the hell out of this place. You've been banned and outcasted from this pack... we'll tell others what you did."

She uttered this with all seriousness, sending shivers down my spine, knowing I had nowhere to go.

"Believe me, Cole, I didn't seduce your father. I would never attempt such a thing."

I didn't even care if he believed me. It was good I found my way out of here. I needed to live my life, to be set free.

I couldn't continue to be a slave forever. Perhaps I'll find my mate, someone who will accept me for who I am.

A mate who wouldn't mind even if I were a rogue, an outcasted wolf searching for shelter.

I headed to the storage room where I usually kept my clothes and took them, making my way out of the house. I found Luna Caroline and her stepson.

"I'm so sorry things ended this way, Luna Caroline. I never tried to seduce Master Carson."

My explanation didn't change her mood; she was still angry at me, and I knew she had every right to be since her mate lied against me. 

Cole stopped me, blocking my view the moment I took a step forward.

"It's late already, Iris. Maybe you should stay for the night and leave tomorrow."

Cole really cared for me. I think he was the only one who had my back all these months I've been here.

I removed his hands from mine and smiled at him. "It's really fine, Cole. I'll find my way out of here. I really appreciate your help."

With a heartbroken smile, I walked away, hoping but unsure where to go. "Oh, Moon Goddess, help me out. I'm lost."

It was late; The time was already clocking (8pm) and here I am, about to enter the journey of no direction. 

"Don't be scared, iris. You'll go through this." Confronting myself was the only thing I could do. I'm at the point of breaking down right now but I won't. 

Knowing this forest I'm roaming around wasn't safe. they're rogue wolves like me everywhere wanting to attack their enemies every second. 

I stopped walking when I found an old hut around the Blue Moon Pack territory. I didn't mind. Spending the night there seemed better, even though it's around the neighborhood pack's territory.

The hut was a small dwelling, made of mud walls and a thatched roof. Not bad. Just going to spend the night here and find my way out.

Not long after, I heard someone call my name—a familiar voice.

I made my way out of the hut and came outside only to see Cole. At this moment I was scared because I didn't understand what he was doing here. 

Although he does care for me, I could tell that he has feelings for me. He also wanted to take advantage of me like his father

His expression turns red the moment he sees me.

 "I couldn't sleep knowing that your life was in danger, iris. Please ,let's go back." 

I could see the concern looks in his eyes but it wasn't in his nature to genuinely care about me. 

"I've already talked to the Alpha ,my father ,and he said you can come back. Please don't Mind my stepmother." 

Hearing those words seems unbelievable. 

"Sorry to say this Cole, don't act like the good person you are not, you're just like your father. so let me__"

I paused, trying to calm myself down. Remembering the pain Alpha Carson had inflicted on me hurt me so much. 

And I don't wish to have anything to do with him or his son. They're all the same person. With the same blood line running through their veins. 

Cole drifted away from me the moment I uttered such words. He must have been Hurt by my statement. 

"I never thought you had such thoughts about me, iris. Nevertheless, I wish to warn you; you're in enemy territory". 

He walked away sadly and I felt a little peace though I was scared of the dark. 

The ray of the moon, shone brightly on my face. Reminding me it's full moon today.  

The Full moon was already out and to some wolves, it was time for them to hunt and seek for their mate.

But mine was different. I haven't been able to transform into the wolves I am. My wolf form hasn't come out yet so I'm not anywhere strong compared to those that have found their wolf and embrace it .

I doubt my mate will accept me after finding out I'm a weak slave without a wolf. 

I was heading back to the hut when I heard an eccentric voice talking to each other. Anxious to know what they were discussing about,

I hide behind one of the trees, close to them. 

"You know the Blue moon pack coronation is today right? It has already started."

"It's really so unfortunate that the second son of King Alfred will be crowned as our current Alpha instead of the first son."  

One of them spoke, with great shock in her voice. 

"You know it's the rules, One can't be an Alpha without a mate." 

The second female uttered and brought her lips closer to her, like she wanted to whisper something into her ear. 

And in eager to hear the whole story, I leaned closer, in a way I can't be seen. 

" I think the First Son was Cursed. Cause it's strange how he hasn't Found his mate after those years of searching ". 

 Goosebumps run over my stomach on hearing the last words. It's really sad indeed. 

It wouldn't be a bad idea if I stormed to the blue moon pack territory. The centre pack where the coronation is happening. 

I'm sure it'll be fun to watch.
