“Mama!” Ethan rushed towards me as soon as we got back home.

I opened my arms to him, enclosing his little body in a warm embrace.

“Hey, baby, how are you?”

“I’m good, Mama. How was your trip with Papa?” He asked, turning to Horace for a hug.

“Oh, it’s my turn now?”

He nodded his small head. “Of course, Papa, you get a hug too.”

“Aww, buddy, that is so sweet,” he said, lifting him off the floor into his arms.

“How has your day been? Did you have fun at school?”

“Of course, Papa. I had a lot of fun.”

Horace ruffled his hair. “That's very good, I’m glad to hear you say that.”

“And how was your trip with Mama? Did you enjoy it?” He paused, face morphing into an expression of naughtiness. At that moment, I began to get an idea of what he was about to say next and quickly reached to cover his mouth, but before my hand could get close enough, the words spilled out.
